raw oat meal and water, apply at night, washoff in the morning? Leaves skin soft!Does anybody know any homemade facial mask recipes for combination and acne prone skin?
See the source below...they list 14 homemade facials
oatmeal and honey: Get natural bee honey, melt it in the microwave, then add oats (maybe from quaker) but mush them up with your fingers and let them fall into the honey. Mix the two ingredients and make sure it is warm before applying. Once it is warm, add to your face and leave it for 15 minutes. Wash of with warm water

will make skin soft and open pores

hope I helped!!
Here's some solutions that may help:

First, clean your face with water only. Never use soap. You can open your pores with hot compresses (washcloth) For a facial scrub, moisten oatmeal to a ';goo';, use it to scrub your face (not around your eyes). Wash off with cool water. You may also make a paste of the oatmeal and allow it to dry..remove with cool water. You may also beat an egg white, put it on your face and let it dry, rinse with cool water. Sliced fresh cucumber placed on your closed eyes will reduce bagginess and dark circles. To make your hair shine, rub in some regular mayonnaise, shampoo out after 15 minutes.

For trouble-prone skin, mix oatmeal with water to form a paste.

For normal to oily skin, use an egg white.

For dry skin, use an egg yolk.

In all cases, spread mixture on face and allow to dry. Rinse thoroughly with cool water.

For oily skin, witch hazel makes an inexpensive toner.

For dry skin, you may want to add moisturizer while skin is still damp.
oatmeal and warm water, mix a paste and put it on. til dried out then remove with cool water.
The recipe is guacamole, honey,a raw egg, crushed cucumbers.and crushed ice cubes because they open your pores.

What is the best makeup for acne prone skin?

Prefer something with natural ingredients since I'm breastfeedingWhat is the best makeup for acne prone skin?
I really like Clinique's line of makeup. DO NOT use anything from grocery stores or even drug stores like Cover Girl or Maybeline. Neutragena and Almay are ok if you're on a budget, but it's like they say, you get what you pay for. What is the best makeup for acne prone skin?
face cream
mineral makeups are really great and you can even sleep in it.
BIOELEMENTS has a new cosmecutical line. it's like medicated makeup. i don't sell it i use it. look it up on the net.
dermablend make-up to the stars although it is affordable
OIL-FREE, NON-comedogenic (which means will not make you break out), Dermatologist tested. It doesn't matter wheter you decide to use LANCOME from a department store OR MAYBELLINE (which can be bought at target).Make sure that it says all that is stated above to prevent your skin from breaking out.
i don't use make up but once i got on birthcontrol my face clear up!
maybelline shine free oil control foundation
Definitely go with ORIGINS. They have retail stores as well as locations in major retailers like Dillards and Foleys. ORIGINS is all natural (no artificial fragrances, colors, etc.) and GREAT for acne-prone skin, sensitive skin, or people who just want a natural product. They also carry other skin care products, from lotions to cleansers to shampoos, etc. Go online at www.origins.com or just stop at one of their stores.

Good bronzer for sensitive, acne prone skin?

I tend to get a lot of bumps on my skin mostly when i wear makeup on my face, but I feel much better about myself with skin makeup on. I've tried a lot of products, and even Bare Minerals makes my skin a lot worse. Bare Minerals is supposed to be GOOD for your skin not make you break out. Is there anything more sensitive than that?Good bronzer for sensitive, acne prone skin?
Bare escentuals is not good for your skin at all. They use bismuth oxychloride which is not an actual mineral but a metal that has been processed with tin and copper, it is well known to cause itching, rash, irritation and acne. I have used their products and they also left me greasy and never stayed on. You have to try Faerie Organic Minerals, they are actually good for your skin. They do NOT use bismuth oxychloride or chemicals at all. Their makeup actually helps acne due to the Boron Nitride which is antibacterial and the zinc oxide which is anti-inflammatory. They have a bronzer called SUN GODDESS faux tan and I love it. It is a better bronzer for acne prone skin because it dosen't have a lot of red in it like most bronzers which can make acne look worse. You can check out their site here......http://www.faerieorganic.com oh yeah, they have a free sample kit that comes with 2 foundations, bronzer and sheer veil, so you can try it out first!

*~~Nat鈾uver~~*Does anyone use CUTICURA soap on their Face? Does it work in clearing up acne prone skin???
I used it many, many years ago, and it was very harsh. It left my skin tight and dry and red, very irritating. I don't think it worked any better than any other soap, as far as acne is concerned. There are better things out there.

Soaps good for acne prone skin?

i don't want to use neutrogena, clinique, or stuff like that. i'm thinking of using something natural with vitamins and minerals in it. my forehead is kinda oily, but my cheeks are really dry now. what soaps/mpisturizers could you recommend with natural ingredients and vitamins/minerals? where can i find them?

also, would washing my face with colloidal silver be better? or should i stick with the natural soaps?Soaps good for acne prone skin?
Cetaphil, its like 5 dollars you can buy it any drug store, and its basically soap but much better, theres no bad scent, and it wont make your face all oily, it makes your skin sooo soft, its really great and so gentle i love it.

http://blogs1.marthastewart.com/photos/u鈥?/a>Soaps good for acne prone skin?
Cetaphil. You can get the bar soap for like $3.99 and the liquid (get the clear liquid) is around $12.99.
NO! that makes you break out even more use oatmeal soap!:)
African Black Soap is pretty good for acne prone skin. It's a little drying but not so much that it makes your skin more oily or excessively tight. Your skin will actually feel softer a few minutes after washing. You can find it for no more than $1.40 at Wal-Mart.
Use Guardian Silver Supplements and i have tried and will give you guaranteed results

Best soap for acne prone skin?

What is the best soap to use for acne prone skin? Right now I am using Purpose. It is Glycerin based.Best soap for acne prone skin?
there is a soap called FACE DOCTOR SOAP.you can do a web search for face doctor soap and read about.it is a mild soap thats used for acne and rosacea.i have been using it for a year and its helped my skin.Best soap for acne prone skin?
I've tried almost all of them, and been to different skin doctors to ask that question. They all try to sell you the most expensive stuff, and I tried it all. I ended up just using Dial soap - it's very drying but it is disinfecting at the same time. There is no miracle soap that I have found, everyone will tell you a certain soap is best, but I don't think there is one perfect soap for acne.
It is important to use skin friendly products and not pinch the pustules so that there are no scars formed. A good soap like Neutrogena or Cetaphil is recommended. Mild oil free skin creams should only be used . This link should provide more remedies.

Aloe vera is also really good. Its a plant that you can buy and rub on, or you can buy its jelly, creme, or lotion from stores. It cures anything too, and you can even use on your hair to make it shine. Its an old chinese medicine plant.
    DO NOT USE SOAP!!!!!!!!!!

It will strip your skin and will cause your skin to produce more sebum to overcompensate for the dryness. Resulting in oily skin and acne. Use a facial wash- preferably one that does not foam as anything foaming dehydrates the skin.

Try using a milky cleanser or facial wash that is specifically designed for acne prone/oily skin, use a toner/lotion (alcohol free) and then use a light, oil free moisturiser after you cleanse or your skin will not improve- it will become severely dehydrated and oily.
use a anti-bacterial soap. that helps for me. just make sure its a brand you trust, like softsoap or dial. something like that. it is best that you dont use soap with lotion in it, other wise you will breakout more.

What type of moisturizer for acne prone skin...?

i started using benzoyl peroxide for my acne (which works wonderfully btw), unfortunately it makes my skin very dry. what type of moisturizer should i get? thank you...What type of moisturizer for acne prone skin...?
used oil free moisturizer like clean %26amp; clear shine control

or Neutrogena oil free fresh moisture is awesome great oily skin it leaves a nice matte finish also Clinique dramatically different gel face lotion expensive but works great it face very soft nice they have face lotion for dry skin also. also olay makes good face cream very rich nourishing for your skin making more dewy .What type of moisturizer for acne prone skin...?
I've tried a lot of stuff for my acne,

but in the end you really shouldn't use anything for your skin.

If you shower once a day,(preferably at night) you should be washing out all the bad oils from your skin.

If you stop using EVERYTHING you use for your skin, after a bit of time it will go away.

Just a couple zits here and there will show up.

But things like peroxide are going to dry out your skin because it's taking out all of the good oils from your skin...

    which isn't really good.

I noticed that last year I used oxi-pads, Proactive, Clean and Clear, Neutrogena, and a lot of stuff and it would make my skin worse.

but this year, I stopped because it was kinda a waste of my time to use these cleansers,

and now my face is nice and clear :D
As a licensed Aesthetician and beauty expert of 14 years I've studied a lot of acne cases. I have found that a moisturizer meant for ';Sensitive Skin'; not only effectively hydrates your skin, but should have yummy ingredients like chamomile, allantoin, and aloe vera that calm and sooth acneic skin. Since you are already using benzoyl peroxide, stay away from other products with salicylic acid. Too much exfoliation can cause irritation and more acne break-outs!

You can use anything that isnt oil based, which cloggs your pores hence havign the adverse of effect of what your using.

I would advice using Cetephil, that was recomended to my daughter when she was having acne issues by her dermatologist. It worked really well. She still uses it today, along with the facial cleanser and body cleanser. You can find it at Walmart, CVS, Walgreens. etc.
Sara St. James has a daily requirement herbal moisturizer that works amazing. Unfortunately I got it as a gift and believe she ordered it offline because I have not seen it around stores at all, but they have an amazing line of makeups as well for covering acne and looking great(:

    Help? (: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?鈥?/a>
hey i know what you mean. I tried out a bunch of scrubs and creams to see which would work for acne prone skin because I used to have it bad.

The moisturizer I use is called Ponds Dry Face Moisturizer. I literally glob it on before I go to bed and it moisturizes so well without clogging your pores. Plus, its hypoallergenic so if you have sensitive skin, it doesn't leave rashes. I use it every night after using my facial scrub and it works amazing.

    best of luck:]

    logan
clean and clean has a moisturizer with something for acne in it... i forgot what it was but it worked great

    it had a purple top
i have really bad skin and when it got dry like yours is i use clinique moisturizing lotion is expensive but very good!
Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel. It's lightweight, but very hydrating

u cud try eyeslipsface they have good mineral makeup thats cheap (like 5 bucks) and all their stuff is non comedeganic (or however u spell that)
velocity by mary kay works really good for me but you can not buy it at the store you have to buy it from a beauty consultant. but velocity is only for like teenagers but there is other products that work like velocity and for adults
The Hollywood mineral foundation from LAminerals. Great price, many shades to choose from, No talc in it (clogs pores), no bismuth in it (makes ppl itch, its in bare minerals), and best part???? NO AUTOSHIPMENT BS!!!

You just order what you want, when you want. I been using it since last summer. Great stuff. They have samples for like $1 and ship them free. Worth a try.

  • Best mineral foundation for acne prone skin?

i'm a teen and i've been thinking about wearing foundation. i have acne prone skin and i want sumthing that won't irritate it or anything. i want something i can find at Walgreen's or sumthing. please leave sum suggestions and helpful hints thanks!Best mineral foundation for acne prone skin?
The answer is not to put something over acne - which is an irritate wound, but to clean and fix the wound itself.

If you had a cut, would you pile gunk into it to help it not show????

What you want to do is clean up the acne and the start wearing make-up.

Why not spend the $19 and get Proactiv? I sell Mary Kay and wear the makeup, but swear by my Proactiv for 6 months out of the year.

My skin is usually on the road to recovery in about a week to a week in a half... then I can start wearing mineral bronzer again on my whole face.... I never go without mineral eye shadow, eyeliner and my mascara though.

For Mary Kay from me with free shipping... go to www.marykay.com/sdemBest mineral foundation for acne prone skin?
Well.. I use Physicians Formula. I bought L'oreals mineral version and found it itched when I applied it and also make my pores (even ones I never noticed before) like UBER giant. the PF gives decent coverage and doesn't irritate, although I'm using a stippling brush and those only give sheer coverage. Which sucks, because it cost 50 dollars! So I'm going to return it to MAC and tell them that it gave me really poor coverage and that the bristles itched my skin a bit and that I found it shed. Anyways, the PF is a bit pricey, but it's got a lot of makeup in it. The package is just horrible, so getting a separate sifter is probably better.

A few other brands would be Everyday Minerals. I got samples, and they were.. meh. Not bad, not good. I prefer PF over it.

Bare Minerals won't really be good for you as Bismuth Oxychloride, one of their main active ingredients, is a known irritant (despite the fact the makeup line claims to not have any irritants in their foundation) and could make matters worse.

Make sure you also have a good moisturizer for mineral foundation.
every day minerals is the best. and believe me, i've tried them all!

if you go to their website- everydayminerals.com

you can get a sample kit for $4.00 shipping.

the colors might be tricky to match so thats why i suggest getting the sample kit first.

also. you want to have a plastic bowl for mixing the different colors too. the mineral makeup can be messy until you get the hang of it.

when you go back for a full sized order, i recommend the $50 kit. it lasts forever. make sure you get a brush from there too. their brushes are the best.
i use maybelline mineral power. it works really good. i have some acne and it does a good job of covering up and doesn't bother my skin at all. just use a moisturizer before you put it on so it looks smooth! it works really good.
Maybelline Mineral Foundation, its hypoallergenic and will not irritate you skin.. Remember Don't forget to Moisturize!
Color Science is great! they have great foundations that are organic and easily brushed on! i use it everyday!

it is also sun screen and helps get rid of pimples
    Bare minerals.

Does anyone know an affordable, really good powder foundation for dry, acne prone skin. Please Help!?

I have found that a lot of powder foundations emphasize dry areas. But if you really want a powder foundation I would recommend Almay line smoothing compact makeup. It's a decent price, available at most drug stores or walmart, it contains a sunscreen so you don't have to worry about wearing one under your makeup (which is a real problem for acne), and it contains a nice antioxidant (grape seed oil). It really helped heal my acne marks while not causing breakouts.Does anyone know an affordable, really good powder foundation for dry, acne prone skin. Please Help!?
I would agree that mineral foundation would be a great option for you! You might want to steer away from the makeup that contains bismuth however such as bare minerals, because of your acne prone skin. Bismuth could cause more acne issues. I use kms mineral essentials, and I love it. It is an excellent quality makeup that is bismuth free and healthy for your skin.Does anyone know an affordable, really good powder foundation for dry, acne prone skin. Please Help!?
try everyday minerals! they are making a new site now....for now u can view and order off the the old site or the soft launch of the new one. isnt a drugstore brand but it is VERY affordable. You can try it out w/ a FREE kit at everydayminerals.com. yes, it is a powder but it is so good it is designed not to dry out your skin. together with the concealer it makes your face flawless you will looooove it. i was skeptical at first but i ordered the free kit (which comes with 3 mini foundations so u can figure out your color, 1 concealer, and one blush) and im now obsessed. plus if u get the colors wrong the first time you can keep ordering free kits there is no limit. the reg size foundations are only 5$. and concealers are around the same too. you can keep ordering free samples till u get ur colors rite! and they help u try to fig it out w/ the descriptions. good luck!

the product in bare minerals that makes it itchy is NOT used in everydayminearls
Physians Formula at wal-mart its cheap nad pretty good, they have a whole line of it and a good selction, my skin is like yours, and i use it, its good
bare minerals all the way. believe the cheesy infomercials. they're true. it's the best my skin has ever looked and worth every penny.
Have you tried KmS Mineral essentials? It is fabulous and gentle on skin that is acne prone.
Cover girl foundation worked the best for me, it doesn't make your skin too greasy which i liked =)

What should my cleanser(morning/night), scrub, moisturizer be for acne prone skin.?

Help. What should my cleanser(morning/night), scrub, moisturizer be for acne prone skin.?
I have acne prone skin and I only use Biore Products:

    http://www.biore.com/usa/products/index.鈥?/a>

You can look at the site and take their test, but I recommend their Blemish Fighting Ice Cleanser, Triple Action Astringent, Lightweight Moisturizer and the Refining Exfoliator.

Stay away from St. Ives -- it actually tears your skin because its too harsh and will make acne worse. You need something gentle to scrub/exfoliate your face with.

Do this morning and night and you'll see results! The ice cleanser and toner have 2% sylic acid - which is really good for 7 bucks a pop.

Hope that helps! What should my cleanser(morning/night), scrub, moisturizer be for acne prone skin.?
I love St. Ive's Apricot Scrub for blemish/blackhead control. It's gentle yet it makes my skin really smooth and radiant. In time it will help with your acne. I love it :) Plus it has salicylic acid in it, which is helpful.

For moisturizer, I use Velocity from Mary Kay and it is my absolute favorite. It's specifically for acne-prone skin. It's very light and absorbs quickly yet it moisturizes really well. It helps smooth out your skin and also helps control excess oil :)
neutrogena daily foaming face wash for oily skin, garnier anti imperfections face kit for exfoliatior and moisturiser, use this 3 times a week and neutrogena every day.
I use The Body Shop's tea tree oil line, and it works great for me.

In my experience of 12 years alot of commercial store bought products DO NOT WORK! They contain way too much benzoyl peroxide which over dries your skin and causes irritations. Often they contain too much of what you dont need, or too little of what you do need!

PLEASE READ THIS WITH YOUR MOM if you are under 18, I have a great solution for you!

Your question is very broad and you need to get professional advice. I will explain why it's a broad question!

Your age plays a role! Do you always have breakouts?

However, acne can result from several factors such an increase in hormone levels. In males testosterone or androgens. In females, androgens respectively. The increase in androgen levels can stimulate the oil glands to become enlarged and thus more oil production is produced. An increased oil production can clog the pores with oil or sebum ( white thick substance) which cause the cell walls of the pores in the skin to breakdown. This process allows bacteria to form and thus breakouts develop.

Genetics may also be a cause. It is a myth that greasy food or chocolate causes breakouts.

However, using make-up sponges that are not changed or washed often can contaminate the pores with bacteria which may develop into acneic breakouts.

If you are a teenager ( which I assume that you are) your hormones play a definite role in your breakouts.

If you have severe breakouts than you might need medication. There are many factors.

The most important thing is that you need products that are AGE APPROPRIATE! Every age group has different products appropriate for them. If you are young than you need milder products as to not dry out your beautiful young skin.

The problem with commercial skin products is that they are manufactured for MASSES OF PEOPLE and are not specifically made for different peoples' needs.

Your skin type is different than mine and your age differs from mine so how is it logical that we both use the same skin product for breakouts. We need different strengths of cleansers and toners. Do you kind of understand what I am getting at?

Here is my STRONG SUGGESTION for you. I refer all my students and patients to this website:

    www.aboutyourskincare.com

You need to consult with professionals and on this website YOU CAN ASK QUESTIONS FOR FREE AND A SKIN EXPERT/PHYSICIAN WILL ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS. It would be a shame if you dont take advantage of this free service.

Lastly, they have incredible products for breakouts and they make them specifically for every kind of skin type. That means that if your breakouts are more severe than mine, than while we both will buy the same product yours will have stronger ingredients than mine will.

They have a mild glycolic acid cleanser that's great for your type of skin and also a DRYING LOTION ( I have 3 bottles) that you put directly on your breakouts and the next day it's gone. It's truely magic in a bottle.

A basic guideline for properly taking care of your skin is this ( now if you're a young girl you will need fewer products than this):

    Night time:

    1. Exfoliate the skin

    2. Mild Glycolic Acid Cleanser

    3. Mild Glycolic Acid Toner ( cleans off the excess debris and balances the PH level of the skin).

    4. Drying Lotion used only on breakouts

    5. Moisturizer

    Morning:

    1. Mild Glycolic Acid Cleanser

    2. Moisturizing cream

The above is a standard you may need to only use one or two products. Visit: www.aboutyourskincare.com

As I suggested and click on the ASK FOR FREE section send them an email and you will get free expert skin care advice.

    Good Luck to you,

    Michelle
I use Proactive but in your case I would maybe use equate acne cream sold at Walmart. I couldn't find a picture but it's a blue and white tub. :D

Thats what I use if I don't want to use my Proactive. (If I'm in a rush)
My answer is little bit different from others. crash a garlic and rub it on your face and take your bath and wash your face when ever you can and the result will be found in few days.

Try it. better than any cream.
clean and clear works for spot acne

and it goes down and is less ride by morning.

Make up for acne prone skin?

I need a good make up that will cover my acne but not make it worse. also i can't spend a whole lot of money on it... any suggestions?Make up for acne prone skin?
No matter how severe your condition, I would strongly recommend that you try and treat your acne before turning to makeup. Of course, you'll need coverage of some sort, but you need to treat your acne as well. I suggest you go to a dermatologist and ask them what treatments would be best for your skin, and chances are, they know what they're doing ;). Remember to drink plenty of water, too, because it truly does help your skin, and just keep your body cleansed of toxins which may lead to break-outs. I have had the same problem with trying to cover up acne, but I realized that I needed to make sure my skin itself was improved before I go on globbing on the makeup. So, what I started out with was Clean and Clear's PERSA GEL which has 5% Benzoyl Peroxide. I apply this product every night before I go to bed on my problem areas (T-Zone), and by morning when I cleanse my face, my blemishes are significantly minimized. I've found that this product, and others containing 2-5% benzoyl peroxide help many other consumers as well, not just me. While you wait for your acne to diminish, you will want to use a full-coverage foundation, and concealer where you need it. The foundation I recommend for full coverage is Make Up For Ever's HD liquid foundation. It is absolutely amazing. It gives full coverage for the whole face with just one pump, and it doesn't look cakey at all. It is a long-wear foundation, it contains silica, which is a highly-absorbent product used in makeup for oil absorption, and it is oil-free and won't clog pores. The only down-side of this product is that it costs $40, which I know, is a bit pricey. However, I guarantee you that it is worth every penny, and it will last you at least 9 months if you use it every day on your whole face. If you feel that it's a risky move, go to Sephora when you have the time, and have a makeup artist there apply it on your entire face. They will match your skin colour perfectly, and show you how to apply it to optimize coverage. Best of luck! I hope this helped you.Make up for acne prone skin?
Bare Minerals is the absolute best make-up I have ever used! It leaves your face flawless and it doesn't even look like you're wearing any. However, it is in the pricier range.. around $25 per foundation, but worth every cent. Lasts a very long time. The minerals also work really great with your skin to hide bad spots, but not clog pores and cause new ones.
Almay should be fine. They don't have oil based products. The majority of their makeup is water based.

Best foundation for acne prone sensitive skin?

Hello, I am looking for a light foundation (powder or liquid) that will not aggravate my acne prone combination skin.

It can be one found in a drugstore or department store.

Which is the best one out there?

Thanks :)Best foundation for acne prone sensitive skin?
well it deffinately depends on whether you have dry skin, oily skin, ect. but one i found that works extremely well is cover girl clean make up liquid foundation.. i have acne prone skin and my skin is dry in some parts and oily in others (yeah, it sucks lol) but this stuff works for me

and also, i use st ives moisterizer right before i put it on, and it helps keep my skin moisterized and it helps the make up last longer. i find that st ives is light and it doesnt make my skin oily.

im sure things like clinique work well too.. but its too expensive for me.

    good luck

ps, i also use my moms mary kay mineral makeup powder foundation as kind of a bronzer after the liquid foundation and i love it.

i heard somewhere that mary kay isnt the best for skin.. but i have the (i think its called) velocity line of face cleaner and i love it soo much, it makes my skin really soft

haha alright, this answer is way too long. good luck and it might take a little bit of experimenting to find out what works for youBest foundation for acne prone sensitive skin?
If you have to get a foundation, get a mineral foundation. It's better than other foundation as usually mineral cosmetics do not clog the pores as much.

I would recommend getting a tinted moisturizer with SPF. Tinted moisturizers are best for the skin as they give you a nice color and moisturizes at the same time. Also if it contains an SPF higher than 15 then it is guaranteed to protect your skin throughout the day.
Bare Minerals, definitely. Sure, it's a little pricey, but it lasts forever. It's a great powder foundation. I also have acne prone combo skin, and this works wonders for me! It covers up blemishes, doesn't make me cakey, and doesn't cause more acne. It's available at Sephora

    http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jh鈥?/a>

    I hope I helped!
Bare Minerals can definately save your skin! It's a little pricey but worth it if you ask me. I get mine from either Ulta or JCPenny. There's also another foundation by Neutrogena that's oil free and has salicylic acid in it. It's faily good as well and can be found at Walgreens, Rite Aid, etc.
okay, like everyone else is saying bareminerals is great! i do recomend that but makeup that's good for the skin and is at like walmart or walgreen is Neutrageina foundation. also the ones w/ spf in them.
    my personal favourite is

maybelline pure makeup 50% water, oil free

and if you want even better coverage use a mineral powder after that.
I completely agree with Jash about Bare Minerals. My skin has never looked better! Also, I've had many people compliment me on how nice and natural my make up looks. It's worth every penny. :)
i heard bare minerals is great. personally i use true blend by cover girl n i have the same skin type as u n it works awesome for me.

What is the best spot concealor for Acne Prone, Oily Skin?

i use a crayon medicated concealer as it has a better coverage, dont use a light reflecting concealer as it will enhance them. Mine is from rimmel so try www.boots.co.uk or http://www.clinique.co.uk/templates/prod鈥?/a> very good blemish stick. What is the best spot concealor for Acne Prone, Oily Skin?
MAC HAS A FULL COVERAGE FOUNDATION!!!

i have really bad acne scarring so i brought mac full coverage con. and it works great...they best ive tried yetWhat is the best spot concealor for Acne Prone, Oily Skin?
I have the same skin. The best would be none, coming from personal experience. Concealer, as much as it says it won't clog pore, it DOES cover them somewhat. I prefer you wash your face with deep pore cleanser, twice a day. And when you have a pimple, put pimple creams on it, which ever ones you prefer overnight. In the morning, if it hasn't gone away, put SOME concealer on, but I prefer not to because it will worsen the pimple in the long run, unless its those concealers that cure pimples. Good luck!
if you put moisutiser on at night time - then when you wake up... your skin sops producing oily patches!!!!
Hi i have the exact same skin type as yours and i use pre-make up base from skintreats.mfbiz.com and then use my normal foundation on top. The pre-make up base reduces spot size within hours anyway and it also keeps my skin oil free all day. I would definitley reccomend this, rather then buying a concealer, just stick to your foundation and try this (its probably cheaper!) Hope this helps!! xXx
get one that's oil-free such as Boots Botanic's concealer. if you don't mind spending money on it, get a clinique one, you can ask the assistant to find the correct formulation for your skin as clinique do about 4 different ones for different skin types, i think it's Type 3 or 4 for your skin.

As another suggestion, certain contraceptive pills such as yasmin and cilest help acne prone skin clear up.

Hope you find something that helps!
    I heard that Visine works.
i use clearasil tinted concealer. you have to use it lightly, or you'll turn orange.
Have you tried any of the Bare essentials range? it is a pure mineral powder but has full coverage. The advantage is it doesn't clog your pores and really reduces the shine on oily skin types. You can get really good deals on a website called glowgirl cosmetics, it's not the cheapest make up but once i tried it i became hooked and it lasts for ages.
i use that tinted concealer from clinique. i have pretty oily skin too, and it didnt make my acne worse. i recommend talking to one of the people behind the counter, they have great products for oily skin
    Bobbi Brown's Blemish Cover Stick.

Not drying so the spots don't look flaky, and it blends well.

    Shades are varied.

I never leave home without it!

  • Why does oily, dry, sensitive, acne-prone skin sound almost hilariously impossible, but I have it?

All my life, I've tried to take excellent care of my skin. That is to say I washed it with gentle cleaners, exfoliated, and moisturized. At one point I broke out so badly on my cheeks that I began seeing a dermatologist (whom I still see) and was prescribed cream and antibiotics. While that's under control, it's only part of the puzzle. EVERYTHING I HAVE EVER USED to moisturize has made my face impossibly oily and uncomfortable. All the stuff out there that's ';oil-free'; and claims to ';keep your face matte for hours'; is crap. To top it off, my face also gets so dry sometimes it actually peels off. Lately I've been developing mysterious white bumps on my cheeks and chin. I've never had that before....wtf? Probably the funniest part about all this is you would never tell from looking at me in public because I'm dilligent about my makeup choices.

My question is, which I've asked the skin gods many a time, WHY? (And what products if any do you recommend?)Why does oily, dry, sensitive, acne-prone skin sound almost hilariously impossible, but I have it?
I have the same problems, although my face doesn't get quite that dry. It's probably the medication you're taking that's making it dry out so bad. For a moisturizer, I've found that Moisturelle is the best. It's definitely not oily at all. It doesn't leave your face moisturized for a looong time, but I find it does the trick. It could also be your make-up that's bothering your skin. I've finally found the best kind, which is tru-blend by covergirl. It's the only ';liquid'; foundation I can wear that looks the best and doesn't look greasy afterwards. I can't use a powder finish b/c it clogs my pores.

The only other great skin cream I've ever used was an ';oxygen'; based cream, but it's kinda hard to find and expensive here. I found a link to it (for some reason it's on a vegan page, but whatever). I think Moisturelle might be a Canadian brand. I also use Cetaphil now and then, but I do find it's a bit heavy and greasy even though it says oil free.

Btw, I would see your doctor about this, not just your dermatologist, b/c you could have something else wrong with you and your skin is just a symptom of it. (ie poor digestive track etc.).Why does oily, dry, sensitive, acne-prone skin sound almost hilariously impossible, but I have it?
Have you tried Purpose by Johnson and Johnson, it has given me no problems. In addition I now use Arcona products, I have combo skin also. Also the drying and peeling may be coming from the products your doctor is prescribing, for instance my face never did well w/ Retin-A or Differin gel.

Nevertheless, try Arcona, go on line, get the 1-800 and call the spa, tell them your issues and they will send you samples so you can at least try before you buy.
If you鈥檙e looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne鈥?prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symposium and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.

For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it鈥檚 advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.

Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.

Oh, by the way the site that helped me is:

    what about natural thingd?

1-You can use a mask of cucomber %26amp;starch (it will make oily skins relax)

    2- milk is good.

3-';Golab'; : it is the essence of a kind of Roses. It is the best for the skin cleaning.
    Homeopathy :-

Take SULFUR 30C thrice a day half hour before meals for three days and let me know your progress after three days and stop using all sorts of gimmicks on your skin it is those which are causing you all the trouble.SULFUR is usually the first remedy in allergic reactions after that we have to take you up according to how you feel till 100% cure.

Take Care and God Bless you !
OK. Acne is caused by flaking of the skin which usually normal... but it's when it flakes off inside the layers of the pore (which is not normal ) and is mixed with the oils that your pores produce to naturally moisten the skin.... this causes a cement effect and clogs the pores. This unusual flaking of skin is suspected to be related to hormonal changes in most cases.

Your skin needs a balance of the mild exfoiliation and added moisture not the usual drying agents that are in acne meds and most toners.

Proactive skin care is a great product to try... it uses a mild exfoiliator fallowed by a alchohol free toner(other toners and harsh exfoiliators can make it worse)and is completed with a repairing lotion that has a small amount of benzoil peroxide to treat the breakouts and prevent new ones from forming. If you use it twice a day with a non-comodegenic moisturizer with spf protection you will get great results. The peeling is probly caused by something your using to treat the acne like benzoil peroxide or alchohol based products.

You may try Proactives daily oil control to get that matte look you want along with the 3 step formula.... it really does work and it is relatively inexpensive, about 20 bucks a month for the 3 step kit and you can add the daily oil control for only like 5 bucks a month extra.

I have very acne prone skin is it true if you apply mosturizer it will cause alot more zits ?

Nope. I have very acne prone skin is it true if you apply mosturizer it will cause alot more zits ?
What the skin needs is a product that clears pores and kills bacteria, thus preventing hair follicles from clogging and turning into acne. This is what you should be looking for if you want to get rid of those ugly acne.

Before trying any treatment, I suggest you read this informational source that listed the most effective acne treatments available:

    http://www.17acnetreatments.com

Hope this helps :)I have very acne prone skin is it true if you apply mosturizer it will cause alot more zits ?
The only moisturizer you should put on your acne prone skin is a moisturizer that won't clog pores! Try Eucerin! They make very good products for people who have sensitive skin!
depends on what moisturizer you use. if you have oily skin, and you use oily moisturizer - not a very good idea.
No it will help your skin not over produce oils...making it better and clear up your skin! :) As long as its oil free and try getting a spf of at least 15 in it
It depends on the moisturizer. If it is oily, it WILL cause more blemishes. :D
No, my skin is the same way. Just use an oil-free moisturizer and that should help.

Best foundation for acne prone skin?

What is the best foundation for acne prone skin? I know some say neutrogena but I found it drys out my skin a bit much.Best foundation for acne prone skin?
Definitely products from Arbonne. I have very sensitive skin and break out very easily, and their skin care is dye free, chemical free, hypoallergenic, and pH correct. It's also botanically-based. All natural products truly do make a difference. Check out their website, if you want a sample, e-mail me and I'll send you one. My sister loved their products so much she became a consultant!Best foundation for acne prone skin?
Just make sure you buy a foundation that is oil-free, fragrance free and hypoallergenic!! I really like Mary Kay Foundation and it lasts all day without the drying out of the skin!!
If your skin is acne prone you should try makeup that won't clog your pores such as mineral makeup.
Estee Lauder or Jurlique, get pimples really easily but find those work wonders for me! You need to find a foundation that is not too oily, use powder also!!
    Mineral Make up, most def.

    Everyday Minerals is perfect..

    http://www.everydayminerals.com

It's amazing, and you can get a free sample kit for just the shipping and handling. 3 foundations, 1 concealer, and 1 blush.
Try merle Norman Aqua base, its got a great coverage and has zinc in it so it will help diminish the pimples. also its hypoalergenic opthomoligist tested dermatologist tested and allergy free. also great coverage! with a matte finish.
I love Estee Lauder and Clinique. I know they are a bit pricey but my skin is loving me for it. They don't dry out my skin either.
I have an oily T-Zone and I'm using LOreal's foundation. At least it doesn't aggravate the acne.
CoverGirl Clean makeup, it contains noxema, which prevents acne and also keeps your skin from drying out. It's also one of the cheapest foundations you can buy.

Aspirin mask?any body have know about it and it is really safe for sensitive and acne prone skin?

I'm assuming that this is some kind of facial product that contains aspirin crushed into a cream.

Aspirin is a salicylic acid, so I'd imagine that it is capable of cleansing the skin and pours and having an exfoliating effect, which may help with breakouts. However, aspirin can cause irritation when applied directly to soft tissue for long periods of time, and could even cause a minor acid burn if your skin is particularly sensitive (which is why most doctors recommend against the old ';hold an aspirin to your gums'; toothache remedy). I'd test a bit of the product on the inside of your arm (near your elbow or wrist) before you apply it to your face, just to be on the safe side. Rub a small amount of it on your inner arm, and wait for about 24 hours. If you develop any irritation or experience pain, avoid using the product on your face.Aspirin mask?any body have know about it and it is really safe for sensitive and acne prone skin?
Aspirin contains acetylsalicylic acid, a beta hydroxy acid, and therefore is an exfoliant similar to many that you will find in skin creams. This reduces oil production, drys up blemishes, exfoliates the skin.

You can see more reviews at :

http://www.dermatalk.com/showthread.php?鈥?/a>Aspirin mask?any body have know about it and it is really safe for sensitive and acne prone skin?
In the past I have made my own by crushing aspirin and mixing it with aloe vera. It works well and hydrates your skin. My skin is pretty sensitive and I never had a problem with it.

What pressed powder should i used on my acne prone skin?

Neutrogena has a really good one I used it for a long time when I had acne and it worked great. It was acne fighting I think, like with a little bit of salylic acid. Now I use a loose powder from Neutrogena and it works really well too. They both didnt make me break out. What pressed powder should i used on my acne prone skin?
I use Estee Lauder pressed power and while a little more pricey it is worth its weight in gold, they sell it at fine department stores and I purchase the pressed power when Estee Lauder is have a special so I receive more of her fantastic products free, with a free make-up case. The best medicine you can buy for acne is Clean and Clear gel with Salic Acid, it works great and is worth its weight in gold and cost less then $5.00 which can be purchased at Wal-Mart. Try it you will be amazed! Best Wishes! What pressed powder should i used on my acne prone skin?
Go for the best!! Christi Mar is an awesome mineral makeup line! Its all natural. It won't make you break out or irritate your skin in any way. This makeup is amazing. You get great coverage without looking like you're even wearing any makeup. It goes on so smoothly and you don't have to deal with a messy loose powder, because it comes in a compact just like regular powder. So forget the powder, and put something good on your skin. Their website is www.Christimarcosmetics.com
You can try Clinique Perfectly Real pressed powder.

There's also L'oreal, Cover Girl Clean Pressed Powder, and you can use blotting papers from The Body Shop or Palladio (Sally Beauty has them) to blot up shine throughout the day.
    covergirl..clean
Mineral powders work best. Physicians Formula and Neutragena both have good lines in this.
I know it might be kind of high for some people, but Bare Minerals is REALLY good on any type of skin. It honestly feels like there isn't anything on your face with your skin looking flawless. I like it a lot, and my face attends to break out and you really can't at all. I hope it works for you! Good Luck! :o -xo
Try an hypoallergenic one. I really advise to use the products from clinique and sephora. The lady at the clinique counter is always helpful though she always tries to get you to buy more than what you need. If you go there, just ask for the powder and say you'll return later for the other stuff.
The best powder is still bare minerals, since it is free of preservatives and all the irritating chemicals that can cause acne. That being said, you asked for pressed powder, so I would recommend either Mac Studio Fix, which gives great coverage and stays matte, or Vincent Longo canvas creme to powder foundation. It is micowater based, and is oil free and hypoallergenic.
theres a product calle dpure makeup, which is 50% water instead of oil so it doesn't clog pores. try physichians formula translucent powder, it blends to any skin tone and looks natural
Bare Minerals is really good. It's made of mineral not petrolium by products and artificial preservatives. I highly recommend it.

I have extremely oily skin... what is the best face wash and astringent or treatment for oily acne prone skin?
    Hey^^

    Try the following brands:

Biothem, Laneige, Olay, Clinique, Skin doctors and Shiseido^^

    But!

You can also make good face masks at home!

Mash a tomato, and apply it on your skin daily!

You can also use some lemon with avocado!

And, you may have to change your diet. I'm not sure of what you eat, but you probably shouldn't eat greasy and unhealthy food, as it will make it all worse! And, remember to drink lots of water!

Anyways, try the following products, I mentioned, they all have something for combination/oily skin^^

    And if you also have zits, try a danish brand called ';Ole Henriksen.'; It's getting really popular, and I would recommend '; Blemish attack.';

I've done all those things, using all those brands, and my skin is always glowing and clear, and I hope that yours will be too!

But, if none of the things will work, try go to a doctor, and remember to use oil free foundations and cremes^^

And of coursem remember to cleanse, tone and moisturize two times a day^^

    Good luck^^

(P.S I'm from Korea, and I bought the Laneige products in Korea. But I would really suggest you, to check out their products^^)
    I have the same problem.

I suggest going to a Dr. specilized for skin.

    [forgot what they are called]

But some products I use are:

    Teatree + Witchhazel foaming wash.

    Teatree + witchhazel deep cleanser.

    Teatree + Witchhazel daily moisturizer.

The above products can be found in boots.

And if you live in an area where boots is not available, look for products that keep your skin clean and dry. But not to a point where your skin is scaly, I strongly recommend visitng and dermatoligist. (that's it!) ha.

    It is OKEH.

    Not the best though.

I would seriously go for the oil free though as Cetaphil DOES have oils in it, I looked last night.

Nothing is guranteed though. Will cetaphil mouisterizer ok for acne prone skin? since it doesnt say oil free?
Try natural man! go for this website and check out the information before buying crap in the drug store. Hope this helps!
soemtimes you want it not to be oil free or it could dry up your face!
It has at least three forms of alcohol in it. Doesn't sound like a very good moisturizer to me. Like, lotion, that dries out your skin. Cool. You'll have to re-apply evertime your skin dries out, which will dry it out more. Then you'll need more product, that will dry it out more.

Is Mac blush bad for acne-prone skin?

They might have some waterproof ones that won't clog ur pores.

Try their website or try a tester, have it on your skin for a few hours first to see how it reacts or go for make over using their products.. the sales promoter should be able to advise you.

Have you tried clearing your acne before? Find out the reason, your blood / liver might have toxins or stress might be one factor. We asians believe that :)Is Mac blush bad for acne-prone skin?
mac is the brand i would use if i had a break out...mac is known for their pretty colors and good coverage. clinique is good for people with acne or bare minerals is good tooIs Mac blush bad for acne-prone skin?
Acne-prone skin usually means young skin. Young skin usually has a good warm radiance to it. Warm radiance means ';no need for blush';. Don't wear a product simply because it exists.
i perfer AVON b/c it doesnt clog up ur pores like other foundation i know b/c ive switch cover up, to cover up, to cover up and AVON's the only 1 that hasnt gave me ne trouble with my face.
are you using the creme blush? It might be adding too much oil. What is your skin type and what are you using for skin care?

You could try the powder blush , if you haven't.'

    Foundations for oily/acne prone skin?

I know you have heard this question a ton of time. But for the past month I have gone on a strict diet to help with ending my acne on my t-zone area ( nose, around my nose, chin and forhead) Some of my acne on my forhead went away. But the ones around my nose and on my chin didnt. I picked a pimple ( i know very bad) and its realy red , so im resorting on makeup now. Is there any foundationa that covers up pimples, large pores, and acne scars? And something you have used please!Foundations for oily/acne prone skin?
The Body Shop has a Tea Tree Oil line...it's products are all natural (no chemicals) and really inexpensive compared to brands like Clinique or Bare Minerals....anyways, I had an acne problem as a teen and I used their tea-tree oil concealer to hide, heal and prevent new zits. Their loose powder is also good for sensitive or acne prone skin.

It's better if u stay away from foundation while your pimples are healing, because believe me, I've tried so many different kinds, but in the end the skin still ends up shiny and the pores still end up clogged.

At least wait until all your acne has healed, then u can use a foundation for sensitive/acne prone skin (again Body shop, or not u can use Clinique or Neutrogena). For now, just cover with a good concealer that helps to heal at the same time and dust loose powder over your face (Body Shop Loose Powder is again, my top choice).

PS. I take Zinc tablets (u find it at the drugstore, its a normal supplement and inexpensive) and Vitamin C daily...it really helps the acne to heal faster with less scarring.

    good luck!

edit: it appears the tea tree concealer has been discontinued :( :( u can use Physician's Formula Gentle Cover庐 Concealer Stick...its mild enough for sensitive skin and won't irritate or cause your acne to worsen...if you want to heal and cover at the same time u can use Maybelline's Blemish Control Concealer....Foundations for oily/acne prone skin?
Your off to a great start with your diet. However, you need a really good skincare system. Start young and you will always look that way! The best makeup would be an oil free make up that doesn't clog your pours.

BeautiControl has great foundations. My favorite is Wet/Dry foundation. It is very light but you get great coverage. You don't feel like you have any on. All products will last you 4 to 6 months. Depending on how you use them.

You should use skincare everyday. Morning and Night. This will help with controling the oil in the areas. Their skincare is based on what ';age'; your skin is acting. If you are just oily with rare breakouts you would use Skinlogics Skincare, but if you have frequent breakouts you would use ALL CLEAR. The skincare will also help with your large pours. As for your scars, Microderm abrasion would be great. It refines your pours, diminishes scarring, smooths skin. It also helps with oil content. It is only used once a week or every two weeks. Depending on your age. If you under 25 I would say every 2 weeks. It is done at night before you go to bed and put on an oil free moisturizer. You would be amazed at the results.

I hope this helped. If you want any info on the products I mentioned you can go to www.beautipage.com/melissacarter

Studies have shown that there is no correlation btw food and acne..however that may be false. Anyway I use a concealer stick..like the pure makeup acne concealer stick. It comes in a few shades and can be bought at the drug store. Pure makeup is good, but mineral makeup is much better for your skin. You dont have to spend a fortune on mineral makeup. You can by it from many companies, like nuetrogena, physicians formula, and loreal. Also, you may want to try Pore Minimizer by Clinique. It reduces the size of your pores(obviously) and gets rid of oil. Hope that helps some!
I had the same problem for years until I switched to Everyday Minerals, Intensive Formula. Try everydayminerals.com. The company sends samples for free and you can get huge discounts on their blog. These minerals are the purest in the market and they get rid of your skin problems forever.
Try Neutra Gena Shine free control cleanser. It makes your skin shine free and it helps treat acne.
You want to go to the store and buy the new Covegirl Tru Blend Powder Foundation, powder foundations are'nt as heavy as liquids.
Neutrogena's Skin Clearing, Oil Free line works well.
I agree with Peach. The Body Shops tea tree line is amazing! I also use their Matt It mattifying gel.
You should try Clinique Clarifying Makeup. It gives great coverage and also has ingredients to heal and prevent acne. Clinique is also 100% fragrance free and Allergy Tested, so it's safe for even the most sensitive skin. It's a wonderful makeup for very oily skin...give it a try. The girls will even match a color for your skin and show you other Clinique products. Good Luck Hun!!
well...i have the same problem and im 14...you should use covergirl clean makeup..but i don't wear it because even though it says won't clog pores..it still will :P any kind of makeup still will..my nose and forehead is just really oily..
Sounds like you're doing all the right things, and as hard as it may be, try not to touch your acne. You're simply spreading the bacteria around. I am a huge fan of Arbonne products. What you put on your skin matters a great deal. Their products are all natural, botanically based, pH balanced, no animal products or by-products, etc. Just great natural stuff. You skin will not only look better but feel better. Once I began using their stuff I never ever bought anything else. You can read all the great stuff about them on line, or drop me an e-mail if you'd like more info. They truly are the best!

Good toner for acne prone skin?

I have pretty bad acne on my cheeks and mouth/chin area. I have oily skin, so i want a toner or moisturizer that will keep my face free of excess oil throughout the day. I was thinking of getting the Neutrogena oil-eliminating astringent, but is this a good toner to prevent shine all day? If not, what products do you suggest?

ThanksGood toner for acne prone skin?
thayers witch hazel toner works great it helps to tone down oily skin plus it helps acne prone skin it relief redness very soothing to the skin you find it at vitaminshoppe.com or thayers.comGood toner for acne prone skin?
What you need to do is retrain your skin so it wont produce as much oil.

Wash with a three or two step system that does not have acid in it{found in acne face wash}. I.e. a regular face wash. And after that use a toner and after that a moisturizer. Or just wash and moisturize. Do that two times a day Morning and Night. Also tanning in tanning beds will help a lot with acne. Make sure you put your face lotion on before and after. Also don't forget about the rest of your body.

I like mary kay but that's just me.
use the clinique 3-step kit.. (number 2 is for oily skin)

    this is what i use.

    hope this helped!
    noxema is simple and easy!

Is CAFFEINE bad for ACNE prone skin?what if it is from green tea,ive heard that green tea is good for skin?

yes! caffeine is horrid for acne prone skin..id stay away...green tea has alot of antioxidents that are great for keeping skin healthy and trying to repair it....do not do black tea...apparently black tea is bad for women...if you are a woman! just stick to the green tea..either hot or cold its delicious and healthy! Is CAFFEINE bad for ACNE prone skin?what if it is from green tea,ive heard that green tea is good for skin?
There is no connection. Is CAFFEINE bad for ACNE prone skin?what if it is from green tea,ive heard that green tea is good for skin?
Acne is caused by sebum (oil that clogs the pore of your skin. I think it is mostly hormone related. Please see a dermotologist to get a proper perscription. Proper foods can help your skin, but I dont think it will clear your acne. I feel medical treatment will help, until you eventually grow out of it.
To some people is the worst thing ever, and for others not so much. If you have bad acne, caffeine is probably not so good for your skin. Tea is not bad... but water is the best thing that will ever happen to your skin.

This was my personal experience. I love Coca-Cola but is not good to my skin at all, it would make me break out a lot. I quit drinking coke. I drink water now (except for weekends) and I don't break out as much as I used to at all. And on top of cleaning your skin and everything, you will see very nice results if you just leave caffeine alone...

if you have an acne problem, I think your best solution is water and washing your face.

    Good luck
Caffeine can totally aggravate skin. Green tea is a lot better. Get NV Perricone's book The Clear Skin Solution. I didn't read the whole thing, but it talks about what foods help and hurt your skin.
Caffeine is not that good. Soda is bad and so is cheap coffee. Get organic coffee and organic green tea. If you can drink all tea instead of coffee, your skin will be even better.

    You should read my story.

  • What's the best face wash for very oily and acne prone skin?

Here's a natural and inexpensive face/body wash. Dr. Bronner's magic soap (liquid). Use the lavender. It's non-medicated, which is a plus because many medicated face/body care items warn you to stay out of the sun or can have side effects. www.drbronner.com (760)743-2211 Box 28, Escondido,CA 92033 You need only a dime size amount and if your hair is short, you can also use to as shampoo! Really though, it has a hundred uses. Comes in many different sizes. What's the best face wash for very oily and acne prone skin?
as soon as you find out, tell me because my face get's really oliy and breaks out and i'm 22 years oldWhat's the best face wash for very oily and acne prone skin?
AcneFree brand purifying cleanser is good. It's active ingredient is benzoyl peroxide. A shine control mask a few times a week or so also helps. I like the one by Biore.
Benzoyl peroxide is not best for oily skin. Even if your skin is oily, you still need a moisturizer. Benzoyl peroxide is very harsh on the skin.

Products containing salicyclic acid are better.

I have struggled with acne since I was 19 (I am 24 now). The only products that have worked for me were prescription drugs-- an oral antibiotic and a cream called RetinA micro.

Nighttime Moisturizer for oily/acne prone skin.?

I break out about three to four times a month and I hate it. After the pimple goes away, it leaves a brownish blemish. Are there any effective lotions/moisturizers with Benzoyl Peroxide or any other ingredients that I can apply during the nighttime to prevent breakouts? thanks!Nighttime Moisturizer for oily/acne prone skin.?
Anything that is oil free, hypoallergenic, or non-comedogenic. I like to use Cetaphil (recommended by my dermatologist). I know I said ';oil-free';, but Jojoba oil is an exception. It is all natural (not a bunch of chemicals in it) and is the closest to the oil your skin produces itself. I also use this a couple of times a week. it doesn't feel oily on your face if you use just a very very small amount. Your face kind of drinks it =)Nighttime Moisturizer for oily/acne prone skin.?
You can choose to bolieve me or not, but it's been scientifically proven that eating a high carbohydrate diet causes people to produce more sebum in their skin therefore resulting in more acne. Eat a low carb diet. Cut out all grains. Instead of getting your carbs from simple sugars like flour or fruit instead eat things like legumes more often for more complex carbohydrates that do not spike your insulin as fast.

Go on a paleolithic insipired diet, but as an acne sufferor i'd say it's best to avoid all nuts, grains, and dairy. The paleo diet restricts legumes or tuber vegetables(ex potaoes). Avoid tuber veggies, but don't avoid legumes.. eat them like three to four timesa week like a serving size with a meal. Eat no more then one fruit a day since they are simple sugars.

Neutrogena deep clean...tried it on just now my face looks much cleaner-itll help prevent acne and acne takes time to get rid or
Camel touched a bit upon the dietary link to acne breakouts. She doesn't quite have the entire picture, however. Carbs themselves are not bad for acne prone people, though some people who have acne have a mild gluten allergy which can cause breakouts.

The carbs that you should avoid are white flour type carbs. White bread, white rice, things of that nature. That's because these type of carbs are broken down to simple sugar in our body and cause an insulin spike. This insulin spike causes the release of excess amount of hormones called androgens which in turn cause to much oil to be produced on our faces and also cause our skin cells to die off rapidly, which leads to outbreaks. Stop the androgens and yous top the breakouts. Slow burning carbs like 100% whole wheat, multigrain and sprouted breads, ezekiel bread, natural oatmeal and brown rice are all examples of perfectly safe and healthy carbs.

Some other foods that cause these breakouts are dairy, red meat and vegetable oils. Acne prone people should avoid these food triggers as much as possible while eating more natural foods and drinking a lot of water throughout the day. Water helps flush toxins from our bodies and keeps our skin hydrated and healthy.

The other thing she mentioned about fruits is not quite right either. Fruits are good and healthy for you. I hate when people say the naturally occurring sugar in naturally occurring fruits and vegetables is bad. This just doesn't make any sense. The problem with fruits that people don't realize is that when you're eating a typical crap western diet full of processed junk, the naturally occurring sugar in fruit can set off insulin spikes because our bodies are going haywire from all the junk in our system. But a person that eats a completely natural diet full of this fruit will never have this problem because everything is in balance. I've been on a 100% raw diet and ate nothing but fruit for 2 days. I didn't experience one breakout. Other people have done raw diets and ate 20 bananas in quick succession and was completely unable to spike their blood sugar levels.

Anyways to get back on track, there is no external cure to acne because it is an internal problem. You must solve the internal problems in order to be cured.

To answer your question about moisturizer specifically, use jojoba oil and even a mix of jojoba oil and 99% pure aloe vera gel. Jojoba is a natural oil which is similar in structure to sebum. This both ';tricks'; your skin that there is enough there so it won't make as much and it is also an excellent moisturizer which will help with dead skin. Mixing aloe vera gel only adds to the potency.
