neutrogena acne stress control is a really good cleanser/wash for your face. it also prevents future breakouts from happening. it kind of has that tingly, cool, soothing feeling to it. another good drugstore cleanser is st. ive's apricot scrub.Whats a good drugstore cleanser for acne prone skin?
Try and get something with tea tree oil it takes the oil out of your skin so you don't get acne. I get acne really bad and I actuall use a shampoo to wash my face and it works really good it's Paul Mitchells Tea Tree Special Shampoo, you get it at the hair salon, but they actually make bar soap and it works the same way, it makes your face tingle to.
Try clean and clear ones

What's the best face scrub or exfoliant for acne-prone combination skin type?

Neutrogena deep clean gentle scrub?

By the way, I've heard that st.ives is too harsh for your skin so I'm not sure whether it'll be good. Thanks for any suggestions =)What's the best face scrub or exfoliant for acne-prone combination skin type?
Beware of using any products for acne unless they have been prescribed or recommended by your doctor. People make all kinds of suggestions about the best thing to do to cure acne. Some cures I’ve heard include putting oatmeal, honey, lemon juice, tea tree oil, cucumber, vinegar, milk of magnesia or toothpaste on your face. Practically every cosmetics company and company that makes personal care products makes something that is a “sure cure” for acne. If we think about this, and use some common sense, we have to come to the conclusion that there is no quick or easy cure for acne, because if there was it would be well known and doctors would be telling everyone about it.

Numerous companies make a lot of money persuading people to buy products that at worst will make the acne worse, and at best may help some people a little. Often fewer products are better. People often make their acne much worse by using too many products. There really is no quick fix for acne. Don’t spend a lot of money on products just because their ads say that they will cure acne. Your doctor is the best person to ask for help, and he or she may recommend some prescription medication or non-prescription treatment that may be suitable for you..

There are some very simple and basic things you can do that cost nothing. Keep your face or any other area affected by acne very clean. Any mild antibacterial soap will help with that. Rinse the area well to remove all soap residue. Drink plenty of water – it really does help to clear up acne. Eat a nutritious diet and get enough sleep. A healthy life style will make a difference. Try to reduce the stress in your life – stress contributes to acne, so also probably the more you worry about the acne and focus on it, the worse it will be.

Probably the most useful and effective things you can do are to apply hot compresses to pustules and cysts and never to pick or squeeze pimples. Playing with or popping pimples, no matter how careful and clean you are, nearly always makes bumps stay redder and bumpier longer.

What's the best face scrub or exfoliant for acne-prone combination skin type?
Personally, I found ANY scrub too harsh on my skin. One thing recommended to me was to use a flannel/face cloth to exfoliate. Use your usual cleanser, then use the wash cloth to gently exfoliate. Go round in small circles, gradually making wider circles. Then rinse with cold water. Always pat your face dry, don't rub. Follow with a gentle moisturiser.

You should only exfoliate once every week/2 weeks. No more than that. And never steam your face to try and get blackheads out. All you are doing is irritating your acne prone skin.
they both contain 2% saliyic acid so there similar..

as far as acne treatments...

I would stick to a scrub that contains benezyol peroxiode...

wash my face twice a day..

pat dry ...

dont be too harsh with your skin..

dont stress.

drink water

take vitamin E and Omega and Flaxseed oil to soften your skin as you treat it for acne...

take a day at a time...

oh and wear sunscreen...

St.Ives :D I Have It Its Really Good, And Smells Nice Too :)

But If You Have Acne (Which I Had) Go To Your GP And Ask For Duac Once Daily Gel. My Skin Cleared Up In A Matter Of Days. Nothing At All Worked For My Skin Except Duac. You Could Never Tell That I Had Acne :D

X
I use St. Ives apricot scrub invigorating but only once a week. You should only exfoliate once a week use a gentle cleanser the rest of the week
Invigorating 2x a week then wash it everyday with something gentle like dove foaming facial wah in cool cucumber.
St Ives is AWESOME but if you think its a little too rough, get the one WITHOUT expholiants and just add a few oats to it when your washing your face.

Well i heard Neutrogena has great makeup for those who have acne prone skin.It also contains salicylic acid to help treat pimples while youve got the makeup on.What is the best makeup to use on acne prone skin?
physicians formula is very light and doesn't clog pores
Don't use any. Makeup is putting things onto your face that were not meant to be there. I am 29 years old and can honestly say that I have never had an acne problem, nor have I ever worn makeup. I don't understand why beautiful girls want to mask their faces with it in the first place. My grandmother raised my mom and two aunts with the thought that they shouldn't walk out of the house without it on, and to this day they don't dare go past their mail boxes without it. Trust me, you save a lot of time getting ready in the morning if you just wash your face and put on a moisturizing cream with a SPF in it, then go about your day.
I used to break out even with physicians formula but tried bare minerals and so far no pimples. It is a powder and the minerals do not clog and there is no greasy additives.
I have had problem skin for years. The dermatologist recommended Clinic products. But, it became so expensive for me that I looked for an alternative, and found Almay has Clear Complexion makeup which I have been using for quite a while and like it very much. They even have a Clear Complexion cover up which helps for those difficult spots.

Another suggestion which I have is to use Vitamin E after washing your face, either when you are getting ready for bed or as the first layer under your makeup, before moisturizer or anything else. It has been a great help to me to reduce scarring.

    Hope this helps.
    Pimples

In gram flour add curd (yogurt) and make paste and apply on face, before it dries completely rub that. Do this for every two days. It is good to avoid pimples.

    acne last longer

go to the doctors, dont use the brads you see on TV they make it worst

1st hand experience at this. What's the difference between spot-prone skin and acne?
Acne is the technical term. Wash your face a lot and use a facial scrub
Depends how many spots you have. I'm not sure at what point spot prone skin becomes classified as acne, I think it may be when it starts scaring.

If spots are bothering you be it acne or spot prone skin, go to your doctor who will be able to prescribe you a topical solution. If that doesn't work then go back and they'll prescribe you antibiotics, this will work but will kick in slowly. One of the contraceptive pill treatments can be effective.

A chemist will also be able give you treatment over the counter but it won't be as effective as what the doctor will prescribe.

I am a licensed skin therapist and I get questions like this quite frequently. Unless I have seen your face under a magnifying lamp, I don't just have a set standard for people. For example, from the time you wash your face to the time you notice a shine, how many hours have passed? If you notice a shine, where are they? Forehead, chin, nose or all of the above? Where do tend to break out? What are you using currently? Do you notice if your break outs are constant or just certain times? Do you have any preference to the following? Clinique Stay Matte, Prescriptives All Skins loose powder, origins all or nothing.I have very oily, acne prone skin and am looking for a pressed or loose powder.?
I hate to say it, but if you have oily skin (very active glands), then you'll shift the normal balance (which is an overproduction in your case) if you try to ';dry up'; the oil....which will result in MORE oil being produced.

Your skin has a minimum standard of oil that it produces every day. If you alter that production, your body will respond. Powders and makeup do NOT help. They make temporary adjustments which your body will always compensate for!I have very oily, acne prone skin and am looking for a pressed or loose powder.?

its the best you can get
Clinique Perfect Fit translucent powder, or anything matte
for acne i have pure makeup from maybelline the foundation, the concealer and the powder
If you have acne prone skin, try to stay away from makeup because it only makes it worst. just let it heal itself.
If you are looking on the more affordable side you could try physician's formula powders. They have powders with salicyic acid to control acne, and they are Hypoallergenic, Fragrance-free, Oil free, Dermatologist approved, and Non-comedogenic. They have both pressed and loose powders available.

I have very sensitive skin (very fair) and really like these products.
it actually does not matter. your foundation that goes underneath is more important. look for oil free products. loose vs. pressed is merely personal preference. I like loose better. easier to apply with big fluffy brush. I asked at the bobbi brown make-up counter at nordstroms and they told me there was really no difference between the two. It just depends on what you like better. At home I prefer loose. But when I travel with my pressed powder since it is smaller case.

Neutrogena oil free acne wash. I love it. I also learned when I was younger that changing your pillow case frequently helps alot. You keep reapplying the oils from your face from your pillow case.
There are many cheap and effective home remedies for acne. Tomato slices, turmeric, papaya juices and home made face packs will treat existing pimples and prevent further problems. More remedies at http://www.wellnesstalk.org/acne.html
Well i am a teen and i have prob. w/ acne as well... During the day you may notice like you forhead is feeling a little sweaty, any time you get (even if you just rinse) a chance, in the bathroom anywhere near a sink really. just rinse your face off and dry w/ a towel. repeat until your skin feels ...not sweaty any more. What that sweat is its an irritant to your acne, causing it to multiply i guess you could say. Yes ProActive And AcneFree are good progucts to use and can get slightly pricy.

A really cheap product you can use find it in wal-mart etc.. Its Called ';Sea Breeze';, !st, rinse your face with water, then use the Sea Breeze to completely clean your face. I recomend if you want to see how much dirt, sweat, gross stuff thats oin your face...etc...use tissue after you apply the SeaBreeze to face, to dry off your face, look at all whats on the tissue..gross.
Neutrogena Rapid Clear. It's the only over-the-counter treatment that works.
If you鈥檙e looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne鈥?prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symposium and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.

For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it鈥檚 advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.

Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.

Is coffee bad for acne prone skin/severe acne?

    i say

NOIs coffee bad for acne prone skin/severe acne?
No, unless you drink it in large amounts daily. Just stick to less than a cup or so a day. I have acne-prone skin as well and I usually have about a cup a day with no related acne problems. Drink up!Is coffee bad for acne prone skin/severe acne?
The true story is you do not know unless you try it.
coffee is bad for anybody. drink tea instead...or eat dark green leafy vegetables. it feeds you energy instead of using up the energy that your body has reserved so later on you have that 5 pm crash.
Not unless you take too much a day . Acne and pimples is one of the most distressing and depressing problems faced mostly by youngsters. Soak cotton wool in mint juice, and apply every day. Mix cinnamon powder with lime juice to make a fine paste, Apply on pimples. There are more such remedies at http://useinfo-acne.blogspot.com/

I have some-what acne prone skin, face cleaning routine question....?

I like to go to the gym at 11ish. I used proactive. What would you recommend for a cleaning routine? Wash up after gym then wash up right before bed? I kind of don't want to use it 2wice because Im pretty sure that will dry out my skin. Any recommendations?

if your worried about your skin drying out just apply a little face mousturiser after washing not mo much a raisen size drop will doI have some-what acne prone skin, face cleaning routine question....?
I have trouble with my skin too and also use proactive. I love that stuff but you're right...it can dry out your face. I suggest dove soap for washings in between your proactive routine. It's what I use. It has a bit of moisturizer in it and it's extremely mild. Also for the proactive you need to find what's best for you. Some people use the whole set, others just use part of it. For me I only use the cleanser after I have washed my make-up off with the dove. Sometimes I use the face mask. You may have to experiment with it a little. It shouldn't be drying out your face though. So try using just the cleanser/astringent or just the wash if it's too much on your skin. Good luck. Hope it helps!
proactiv sucks.. its a ploy to get money.. it works then once u stop the bumps come back again.. AND worsens the situation. well at least thats what it did to me and my ex.. and my cousin. if ur worried about acne i would be more concerned with what causes the bumps.. may be internal, i would recommend something like colonix or anything with a high fiber content that will cleanse you from the inside out.. then topically use something like cetaphil gentle cleanser, doesnt dry the skin. use day and after u leave the gym.. i heard klaron (sulfacetemide) is supposed to be good too if ur not allergic, but u need a prescription
If you are using proactiv then it says to use it twice. I have been using it twice and use the moisturizer as well. If you use that then it should be fine.
Well I think you will be ok using proactive twice a day as long as you applied some WD40 or 10W30sae afterwards.

Some sort of powder foundation!!! That works really good because it makes your skin look flawless and isnt oily!!!What makeup would you recommend for covering dry acne prone skin?
Use a mineral powder foundation like clinique or laura mercier.
    smashbox liquid foundation.

heard some good reviews on that.
Putting powder on your face will make dry skin stand out more. Look for Mary Kay products they really help with acne and dry skin. They are not oil based either so its nice and light feeling.
Most of the time it is best if you can go without wearing a foundation as much as possible as it clogs your pores more. Washing your face daily and applying moisturizer are the best ways to keep it healthy and over time you will see a dramatic recovery. I always use a little power and some blush for a glow. If you can pull it off it is the most attractively natural way to wear make up.

yeah it a good combination u mostly break out when using too many product at the same time and they have lo oil
Don't exfoliate (scrub) with acne!! It further irritates your skin and spreads the bacteria that caused the acne in the first place.

I think your products sound fine- you should add a moisturizer for oily or combination skin. Oily skin needs a moisturizer. Most acne-fighting products are drying to the skin. Use them without a moisturizer, and you risk over-drying your skin. When your skin is over-dried, it sends signals to the oil glands to produce more oil- which you want to avoid.
The effectiveness would largely hinge on individual basis.

If you suffer severe acne, no amount of over-the-shelf products would help. Consult a dermatologist, results guaranteed.
Yes great, also you can do a natural face scrub for treating acne. This scrub is composed of:

    1- 1 table salt teaspoonful.

    2- 4 Olive oil teaspoonfuls.

3- and the juice of half a lemon.

Do not rub vigorously, but gently and you will see the difference.

Do not worry, I always do it :-)
You should also put lemon juice on your face! It helps lighten your acne scars!

I suggest rather than using a facial soap to clean your face, you should use a soft cleanser, like Clearasil, it works really well and keeps your skin really clean and soft. Or you can use a cleaner, like Ponds or Neutrogena oil free acne wash, etc.
Use ALL CLEAR FROM BEAUTICONTROL help dry and clear blemish without stripping essentials oil, help rid skin of dirt, makeup and impurities, help absorbs excess oil and prevent future blemish buy in www.beautipage.com/zaidymarie
Use a liquid carifying cleanser, not a foaming one. Foam will dry out your skin which will not help. After, use moisturizer that does not clog pores. Then, dab 2.5 to 5 % benzoyl peroxide on your acne.

    What also helps:

Water :Drink half your body weight in ounces a day. (moisturizes and cleanses skin)

Take garlic pills every night (they clean your body)
Clinique 9though expensive) do a great bar soap for face. It comes in a demi-cylindrical olive green container and it vaguely pale yellow. It's worked wonders for my spot-prone skin :)

Any sort of 'drugstore' make up (Covergirl etc) will not be good for your skin, even if it says its good for acne prone skin. I worked with a bunch of estheticians who have told me not to use drugstore makeup on my skin because it will ruin it.

Right now, I'm using the Jane Irdel line. Its amazing for your skin. Also, the Aveda makeup line is supposed to be very good aswell. They're pricier, but its worth it.

Of course, the mineral makeup itself wont really cover up pimples, you need to use a concealer aswell.Bare Minerals for acne prone skin?
I use to be in your situation with the acne. I still have it,but not as bad as i did when i turned 16. Now i had it bad. I went to a doctor in Mexico and got medication and found what he gave me cleared it up some, but not all of it. since i couldnt get the medication anymore i went to a local doctor in houston and didnt like him(just didnt help me out) waste of my dads money. then went to a lady who prescribed me antibiotics and a topical cream (Tretinoin) and that helped me. i just went through so much crap. i just use the Murad Acne Complex now since i havent been to a dermatologist and just recently put on birth control for the purpose of acne through my physician. but to your question yes i feel mineral makeup helps my skin now. since i dont use liquid makeup any more. i use Bare Minerals and so happy with it. it gives me great coverage and i look natural and not cakey. i just cant think of trying any other makeup now. i love their whole line. i just hope you find treatment for your face to help your skin. i just remember going through the pain of it couple years ago and hated it.
    mmm i never unstand makeup
Alot of the answers you will recieve will tell you that bare minerals is the best foundation and makeup in the world and it covers anything! which is a lie! I thought this too when i purchased the product but when i started getting pimples i used bare minerals and not only did it not cover it up it made my skin worse my skin was red, itchy, and dry thanks to bare minerals! do not waste your money on a prduct like bare minerals because it is reallly a bad product plus its too much money 60 bucks is way too much i use covergirl, maybelline, almay, etc. and they are the good products!
HOnestly, I don't think so. I have B.M. and I use it when I break out occasionally and it doesn't have a heavy coverage to conceal acne. I would probably go with a heavier foundation but I do notice that when I use B.M. on my acne, it dries it out and it seem to help heal it. I think the best way for you to find out if B.M. can help you is to go to Sephora and have them put it on you and you'll be able to know if it gives you enough coverage for your acne. Good Luck!
Whatever you do , do it gently. The skin is only so strong. Start with the blood. Use yogurt everyday that says live cultures in it. Second disinfect the furniture and pillows at home and wash your hands. Your skin is broken up and germs get in like a cut. When you get better use a stronger soap once a week to wash . When you have recovered buy coconut oil from wall mart to oil the skin at night.
trust me NO it will NOT cover ur acne if u have spots or pimples dont even bother the rest is up to u, its just like dry powder u have to put on ur face it doesnt cover it just looks natural when u put it on so if u have nasty skin with zits and spots its not gona do anything at all dont believe the commercial although i now have clearer skin i bought it and it looks nice and glowy but if i had zits i wouldnt even bother to use it cus it will not do anything,, use a foundation OR if u still want minerals use Lo'real minerals it has a better coverage i tried that its like foundation. i hope i helped cuz im telling u everything i know and think.

  • Is obagi clenziderm system really effective for acne prone skin?

The 'evidence' is anecdotal. Even on ebay it costs 拢36.29

They claim that it ';includes a new liquefied form of benzoyl peroxide that is 1/10,000 the size of any other benzoyl peroxide available';.

Benzoyl peroxide is the active ingredient in countless over-the-counter products, such as Clearasil and ProActiv. One of the first proven treatments for acne, it has been used for decades and is still one of the most popular and successful treatments for acne.

Best foundation for dry, acne prone skin? preferrably by MAC, but ill accept others too :)?

I am very pale ( i have pinky undertones i think) and i have dark brown hair, i dont break out with spots a lot but when i do its usually A LOT or just plain BIGBest foundation for dry, acne prone skin? preferrably by MAC, but ill accept others too :)?
MAC is really not good for acne or dry skin! I've been using MAC for ages now, so I know alot about it. Try buying a tinted moisturiser and a powder foundation, which created a flawless look (:

Or use a concealer/all over cover stick all over the skin, then use a powder foundation over top top, which too creates a flawless look (:Best foundation for dry, acne prone skin? preferrably by MAC, but ill accept others too :)?
I've been using MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation For 3 months now and haven't had any problems. I have the type of skin which can easily break out from the wrong things touching my face. But, what I would suggest to you is to firstly start washing your face twice a day, and maybe use Tea Tree or Simple face wash products. Moisturize daily and consider wearing either:

    - MAC Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15 Foundation

    - MAC Mineralize Satin Finish SPF 15 Foundation

    - MAC Select SPF 15 Foundation

These ones are quite goo and leave you with a clear matt finish.

*Drink Loads Of Water a day to flush the toxins out of your skin.

    Good Luck

I'm a makeup artist. And this is my opinion on great foundations for dry skin.

Just a quick tip your skin may not be acne prone it may be that you don't deep clean your face brushes before they go to your face. I only recommend spot cleaning if you are working on many people

at once and you really need that brush asap. Otherwise I only spot clean my eyebrushes.

I would first off recommend studio sculpt it has all essential oils so your skin will stay hydrated. But the only downside is this foundation looks flawless... but it broke me out and I have pretty normal skin... I don't break out often either. I do use this in the summer for special events. It won't do anything to me if I wear it for 1 day. If I wear it 2+ days in a row I will notice bumps on my face.

The second Mineralize satin finish spf 15

I recently got introduced to this (and I use studio fix fluid) I'm in love. IN LOVE. It's such a dewy finish and goes on soooo nicely. It's medium coverage but you can build it up to full and you feel like you got nothing on your face. It stays on all day though! (I use a face primer though the one by gosh)

Now whatever you do. Do not get a foundation that is thick (i:e studio fix fluid or studio tech) your dry skin will make it look cakey, and just not right.

If you wan't mac those are the two I recommend. (:

I set my foundations with MAC MSF NATURAL in dark (even though I'm an nw20 ;P it's a sheer bronzer/a setting powder in one. I just skin a step.)

The best foundation (I use this too) for dry skin though it's very pricy, but very good. It's chanels pro lumiere. I like mat lumiere too but I would push that to a person who has more oily skin because it leaves a matte finish, but if you want a dewy finish the pro one is great. (:
I have the exact same skin. I use Studio Fix Fluid in NC15 (its the lightest they make, you can add moisturizer to it if it is not light enough). It doesnt make me break out and sometimes I forget to take it off at night. The key IS washing it off every night and using a light moisturizer and drinking lots of water.

you can go to a mac store or to the counter in nordstroms or macys and get color matched for free. But dont let them pressure you into buying stuff you dont want to buy. If you have the money to blow get the mac Matte and FIX + makes your skin almost PERFECT!

    Good luck
I don't do MAC, but I do Coonobabe

    use their Savila base:

    http://www.coonobabe.com/face.html

    plus they do free shipping

before you apply any makeup, do what I do, like yourself I also have oily skin I use their Pepino cleanser followed by their Manzanillo toner. This simple prep before makeup helps alot in solving the acne problem. At least for me it does. so you may want to take that into consideration as well.
Try Clarins Truly Matte Foundation, it's fabulous. Clarins is an all plant extract line, similar to mineral make ups. Or try Estee Lauders nutrious liquid foundation, it is fabulous!!! I have acne prone skin as well so these are just some foundations I recommend you try out!
MAC is amazing for foundation for skin like yours.

i use this one which gives me a light but strong./heavy good coverage its called studio sculpt spf by mac.

    http://www.maccosmetics.co.uk/templates/鈥?/a>

if you dont like it you could try a powder to liquid one- they are good.

and minerall foundations good too :)

    good luck
MAC isn't good for acne-prone skin. If you go into Sephora, they will find the right foundation for you, but don't let them sell you something you don't absolutely love. Also, give them a price range so they don't try to sell you something that is way out of your price range.
Stay away from MAC if you have acne.

MAC was developed for photo shoots with models - so it was meant to be washed off after an hour or so when the shoot was done. MAC will clog up your skin REALLY badly.

I used to use it myself and got acne, but when I stopped it got a lot better.
I know u said Mac but would look into others so i wanted to recommend Dinair Airbrush Makeup..if u just google Dinair you'll find their site...ive been using Dinair for 2 years now and im crazy about it!! It makes my skin look flawless and smooth and it also last all day, which is great! Its also all water based so its not bad for ur skin. I really really love it...so i always tell people about it! Hope i helped...=)

Shud I get Microdermabrasion for my acne prone skin.?

I have acne scars on my face. They are not in worse possible condition but still since I am fair they are very prominent. Also, my face goes red in sunlight. I am thinking to get microderma abrasion done. Please suggest?Shud I get Microdermabrasion for my acne prone skin.?
I would recommend microdermabrasion. I've had 3 treatments so far myself, and while expensive, you do get a very noticeable result. The number of treatments you get will depend on how damaged your skin is. My acne scars were pretty mild, so I've only got 1 or 2 more to go. But if they're prominent like you say, they'll probably suggest that you get anywhere from 5 to 10 treatments.

Also if the place that you get yours done has doctors on staff, they'll probably prescribe you an acne medication before you start the treatments (unless ofcourse you already use acne medication).

IMO the microdermabrasion itself didn't even hurt. The part that was most uncomfortable for me was the blackhead extractions. So be ware of that :p

Anyway micro is the BEST thing I've ever done for my skin. It's so soft and clear now. My husband says my face is as smooth as a baby's bottom.

So yeah, I totally recommend it. Good luck!Shud I get Microdermabrasion for my acne prone skin.?
Microdermabrasion is expensive, and you generally need around 6 - 10 treatments. At first your skin will be VERY red for a day or two after (PS: accept the foundation they offer afterwards on at least the first treatment.)

But the preceding treatments, your skin will recover much quicker.

I don't believe it will fix acne scarring as the way the skin grows it damaged and this is just how it grows.

Having said that Microdermabrasion is quite agressive, so it may improve them slightly.

I have also heard Bio Oil is good for scars.
You should get it, but you don't have to get it done at a salon. A cheaper way to go would order thru Mary Kay or Beauti Control. Its easy to do yourself. Just put a light layer of the beads and scrub your face with the brush. Do upward strokes so you won't get any wrinkles. Then afterwards put on Vitamin C lotion to help make your skin glow. Just a small tip, do your microderm when you don't have to go anywhere for at least 24 hours, it can cause redness. Also don't press to hard, its the beads that make your skin better, not the brush. Hope this helps.
Buy 'Modern Friction' by Origins. Its a microdermobrasion in a tub, its quite pricey i think about 拢30 but it works. You should read some reviews on it, alot of people say they prefer it to the real thing. It makes your skin so smooth.

If you use it, finish off by rubbing in rosehip oil to your face. Its used for healing scars and softening skin.

The norm is a mineral makeup or a something like Lycogel MD.

Lycogel is full coverage breathable makeup used on sets where the actress has acne problems. The problem with this makeup is the colors are limited so they usually have artists custom blending these for them and they are REALLY expensive. The lycogel runs around $50 a bottle at www.lovelyskin.com.

For mineral makeup the most common are Jane Iredale or Youngblood because of their pigment content. For acne skin the Jane Iredale pressed base pressed into skin with a sponge gives full coverage that is breathable. Most minerals are sheered out for more sheer coverage like bare escentials or bare minerals for soft coverage. You won't find those on a set or typically used by people who can afford the best and are photographed a lot.

The Lycogel is the most waterproof of the two.
make up forever is used by many stars.

there is a foundation that is waterproof

I have combination acne-prone skin....Are there products that can help?

I not only need a product that can help keep my skin clear but I also need moisturizing that won't break my skin out. The skin around my cheeks can get very dry and dull looking. I would like to improve the tone and texture of my skin. What products can help me achieve that?I have combination acne-prone skin....Are there products that can help?
True those products may work but they are not the best.

This has alot of useful information.I have combination acne-prone skin....Are there products that can help?
Get a medicated lotion, I have the same problem. Anything oil free or with some kind of acne med in it should help.
Honey is a great remedy for acne and pimples because the honey kills bacteria and great for dry dull skin. More such solutions at http://solutionsforpimples.blogspot.com/
I have exactly the same problem!

    Try 'simple' light moisturiser

Simple do lots of products that arnt harsh on skin so they wont break you out in spots, but give you good moisturisation and makes your skin feel smooth

Also try johnstons 24hr moisture, its fantastic and doesnt clog up any pores!
i have the SAME skin as u! i use neautrogena cleanser every day (the orange gel one) i also use the neautrogena moisturizer for sensative skin, and i use st. ives exfoliater for acnce once a week. these products really work!. and if u have trouble with make-up too. buy bare essentials their products are very gentle on skin like ours. good luck!

I would like to suggest some things natural and safe. Go to healthquest.peoplesway.com and look at Oil of Mink and also at PRO MC-- this is a male hormone balancing cream but is totally safe for either sex to use on pimples. Most pimples are caused by a lack of zinc and just a tiny dab of this cream can help. maybelline mineral powdered foundation/

it covers up pretty good ,and it doesn't make me break out because it is oil free, and i usually break out easily too.
try mineral makeup. It won't clog your pores.

Or just buy a primer (mac does a really good one) that also stops your pores being clogged.

My skin is really really sensitive and MAC doesn't make it break out. Just remember to take it all off with make up remover every day and do a face mask once a week. And try not to use powder over foundation, it really irritates your skin. One or the other, not both! (unless it's a special occasion and you HAVE to)
I'm someone who is constantly trying new beauty/skin care products. My face is oily and very prone to pimples and nasty breakouts. I've recently come across Maybelline's new ';Mineral Power'; line and it's awesome :) I'd also recommend anything by Physician's Formula. Everything they make is made with people like us in mind (those w/ sensitive skin). So go out and try either or (Maybelline is a bit less expensive) and hopefully you'll be as happy as I am :)
mineral make up will always be a best choice. it doesn't clog your pores and its full of great things for your skin. Its a fresh and young look that doesnt weigh down you face.another thing i would do is exfoliate your skin twice a week to get rid of dead skin and oil that would clog up skin but remember to use a light moisturizer

sheercover, bare minerals, neutrogena?Best mineral makeup for acne prone skin?
Hi! I am a professional makeup artist and skin specialist. I have used soo many different mediums and brands of makeup and let me tell you the best thing I have found for acne prone skin hands down is called Faerie Organic Minerals. They are light, airy, cover very well, cover redness, are good for your skin and leave a dewy glow. They use no preservatives, no chemicals looks like your skin only better. Their minerals also help acne get better due to the Boron Nitride which is antibacterial and zinc oxide which is anti-inflammatory. I have used Bare Escentuals in the past and I thought it was ok, (although it leaves you greasy and you need to reapply many times a day) until I read up on what is actually in their products. They say they are all natural and preservative free (they are NOT) if you flip over the mineral veil it says methylparabean, this is a chemical preservative with links to cancers. They also say pure minerals yet they use an ingredient called Bismuth Oxychloride which is not an actual mineral but a metal that has been processed with tin and copper. It is well known to cause itching, rash, irritation and in some cases acne. (you can google bare escentuals bismuth oxychloride itch and see how many pages of people with irritation to this ingredient) Neutrogena has a LOT of fillers and looks cheap and cakey on, and sheer cover is dreadfully orange looking on everybody I have seen it on. I would highly recommend you try the free sample kit from Faerie Organic so you can see how good your face looks. It comes with 2 foundations, bronzer and sheer veil (oil absorber). You can check it out here if you are interested its on the home page.........http://www.faerieorganic.comBest mineral makeup for acne prone skin?
you are so right! i used bare essentuials and i broke out and never knew why. thanks you for telling me this, i really appreciate it, i'm going to try this faerie organic one! Report Abuse

Hi use Zinplex Forte tablets for a great skin, they are available at www.zinplexskin.com and consist of natural Zinc, Selenium and Vit A. It will heal your skin and boost your immune system and has no side effects. You can then use any makeup on a healthy skin.

Try it, it works and they will soon have a Face Wash and Gel available on the website above. They also contain Zinc and Selenium and will keep your skin healthy.

Your hair, nails and skin will be healthy with this product and it works great!
I have always had luck with mineral makeup I find on ebay. I really wish I remember the link. I got one oz. of the foundation and one oz of the veil for $20. It is a huge amount that has lasted me a year and I'm really not running short.

nothing really works that well for me but eating healthier and touching my face less and wearing only eye shadow instead of a full face of make up helps
I'm not sure where you're from but here in Canada you can go to the drugstore or wal-mart and pick up PanOxyl face wash and acne gel, it's the best for clearing up acne. It doesn't contain harsh additives like salicylic acid or fragrance. It has benzol peroxide in it and it basically will dry up your acne. Trust me...I've been seeing a dermatologist for about 15 yrs . and have been on accutane 6 times lol.
Use products that contain salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. Those two ingredient are effective against acne.
please try this... it really works

dot your skin with antibacterial handsoap

do it before bed and let it sit at least 15 minutes if not longer

then rinse and put on dots of polysporin.. this works like crazy and even when you get a break out it gets rid of the redness...

acne is infection.. and this is a quick fix and a permenant one
I spent ALOT of $$$ treating acne, until my doc recommended baking soda.First, use a nice steamy washcloth and lay it on the areas where you need your pores loosened. Not too hot or you will irritate skin in part two. Second, make a light paste of baking soda (baking soda is a gentle base, a chemical opposite of the acid in the oils in your skin) and water. The paste should not be too dry/ thick, just thick enough to stick to face. Third, GENTLY apply to face. Do not rub on sensitive areas such as under the eyes. Leave on for around two minutes. Rinse thoroughly. Paste can be added directly to acne and left overnight. Note: you will NOT get immediate results, but breakouts should be significantly reduced, within two weeks Enjoy your new, improved skin!!!
I have struggled with acne for many years. I still continue to struggle with acne in my mid-20s and always seem to have a few breakouts. I have tried a variety of skin care products over the years. It's like I can never have perfectly clear skin anymore. But after using Zenmed products it's much better now and I am Totally satisfied with product quality and results. I recommend Zenmed products for sure!
I use neutrogena. It's affordable and you can purchase it at Walmart, Target, Walgreens, Rite Aid, other drugstores ;].
I have been using the Zenmed products for about a month, and I have noticed a change in my skin. I started Zenmed products 7 weeks ago and it's much better. I love the fact that it鈥檚 all natural and pure. I am Totally satisfied with product quality and results. Try it once...
I use benzoyl peroxide 10%.It can come as a mask to cover them so no girls can see them.

What's d best moisturizer for a guy.. with acne prone skin??

im using cetaphil cleanser for my face... and uses duac for treatment for my acne... sometimes my face gets dry... any good moisturizer that wont clog pores and doesnt make d face too oily? What's d best moisturizer for a guy.. with acne prone skin??
Virgin coconut oil works very well on me.

It's natural and cheap. What's d best moisturizer for a guy.. with acne prone skin??
My recommendation (and I have a *lot* of experience) is to try Clean %26amp; Clear's Advantage Oil Free Acne Moisturizer. It has a good, clean, non-girly scent. It's also not too oily and doesn't burn, either. Because it contains salicylic acid, it won't clog your pores. It's not very expensive at all, and a little bit goes a long way.

You might also want to try Neutrogena's Oil-Free Fresh Moisture Ultra-Light Moisturizer. Both of these are available on drugstore.com. There's no need to get anything more expensive -- more expensive can frequently mean more unncessary ingredients that can commonly cause burning and irritation on skin that is being treated for acne.
Depending on where you live, try to track down a Mary Kay Consultant. We have products that will help with the acne and the dryness too.
Try an organic lotion without all of the harsh chemicals for the type of your skin. Your skin is a living organism and sucks up everything you put on it. I've used Jasons organic aloe vera lotion forever and love it in all weather!!! :)

I would like a cream that doesn't make me break out since I have oily skin but I know I need sun protection plus either wrinkle or firming properties.

Does anyone know of any?Anyone know of a Cream or lotion for Oily/acne prone skin, anti-wrinkle or firming with SPF sun protection?
I recommend Arbonne's NutriMinC RE9 Day Moisturizer. It lasts FOREVER! It has an SPF 8 and a ton of anti-aging properties. It also works great with oily skin. I use it every day and recommend it to anyone who will listen. Fabulous! For day %26amp; night.. THANKS!

I am already seeing a dermatoligist!Best face washes for sensitive, acne prone skin?
Arbonne Intelligence Facial Cleanser, AM and PM.

PM - before washing your face with the Arbonne, remove all traces of makeup and oil with Oil of Olay's Facial Wipes for sensitive skin. Then wash with your Arbonne as in the morning.

Keep your skincare routine as simple as possible. This gentle cleansing is healthy for your skin and helps sooth and hopefully prevent irritation from the prescription products.

Go to www.arbonne.com to find a representative near you.

    Best wishes -

I just read your additional details....if you want a product to help clear your skin, then there is none better than Proactiv. However proceed with caution - if you're already seeing a dermatologist and taking oral or topical medications, then combining different treatments could overdry your skin and actually make it redder and MORE prone to breakouts.Best face washes for sensitive, acne prone skin?
Noxzema triple wash. The foamy kind. It clean real well, doesnt burn or anything, clears acne to.
What the skin needs is a product that clears pores and kills bacteria, thus preventing hair follicles from clogging and turning into acne. This is what you should be looking for if you want to get rid of those ugly acne.

Before trying any treatment, I suggest you read this informational source that listed the most effective acne treatments available:

Mineral Makeup for Acne-Prone Skin that I can buy?

Something affordable, and doesnt have bismuth and crap in it.Mineral Makeup for Acne-Prone Skin that I can buy?
if you have a pay pal account or a credit card, you may wanna try to buy a sample kit from everyday minerals or signature minerals~ the kits are free and u only pay for the shipping~

go to their websites and look for custom kits~ use finishing veils to prime ur face and set your makeup after your foundation. pick the formula that best suits ur skin type and just give it a try~

both don't contain bismuth and have a nice selection of colors~ and i find them quite long lasting~ (a full day of work -- no sweating is not a problem)

and if you do decide to try out mineral makeup, read forums and tips on the application and get a good brush.

Mineral Makeup for Acne-Prone Skin that I can buy?
i have acne prone skin, so any make up i put on gives me pimples. I tried sheer cover, did not work, so i do not expect bare mineral to work either. The only make up I use and works wonderfully is Almay Clear Complexion. Its not mineral make up, but it doesnt give you pimples. In fact, it has medicine in it that helps heal the pimples while its covering.

They have concealer, liquid foundation, and pressed powder, So you can get covered really well without worrying that you are going to breka out, because you wont. I use it and its really good.

I buy the concealer for 7-8 bucks, the foundation for 12 or 13, and the pressed powder for 14-15.

I know neutrogena also has a line for acne prone skin, but i havent used it. It also has the same medicine in it (Salicid Acid), but 1% less than Almay.

Try Clinique makeup. It's allergy tested and it doesn't clog pores unlike some other brands do. The powder foundation comes in 8 shades : )
Mary Kay's mineral line works great. Check it out at http://www.marykay.com/tdavis75721
Definitely bare minerals! It's so good for your skin that you can sleep in it!

Tea tree line is awesome! I'm using the face mask, the body wash, the exfoliator, and the oil when I'm breaking out! If you can stand the weird scent, go for it!

You can also try the Seaweed line! It's really effective and less drying.

I have been using Loreal TruMatch. I love it because it matches my skin tone so well. I need something else though because it seems to seep into my pores after I wear it awhile. Any recommendations? I need something moderately priced. Shopping on a budget.Good foundation for acne prone skin?
Well you don't have to get rid of Loreal TruMatch. You just put a good moisturizer underneath to start with and it will keep your pores from filling up. It works trust me that's what I do when I don't want my pores to get clogged.

Good luck!Good foundation for acne prone skin?
Everyday minerals...look it up its a mineral company with lots of different colors, great prices and like you i have acne prone skin this product unlike bare minerals it doesn'tt have an ingredientt that for some people can make them break out.
I wear the Hollywood formula from LA Minerals. It's really good, doesn't break me out and looks really natural. I like their Valley Girl formula too, more matte and has Allantoin in it which helps prevent and heal breakouts:)

You can get samples on their website.
Definitely try Maybelline New York Dream Liquid Mousse.

It spreads well and leaves your skin looking like it was airbrushed. It also covers your pores well without making it look like it's dry or whatever.

Well when I bought mine it was around $8. So I'd say it's probably gonna be around $7-$10 but no more than $10.

I have horrible oily/ acne prone skin, any remedies?

To maintain it i have to wash my face at least 3 times day, which I cant do because im in school for most of the day. Are there any REALLY good, inexpensive products, or home remedies that work really well to clear up my skin and make it less oily?

thanksI have horrible oily/ acne prone skin, any remedies?
    * Calamine powder is one of the best things to reduce the acne and excess oil from the skin. Take two spoonful of calamine powder and make a paste of it with rose water. Apply it on all over your face and neck. It clears the skin and reduces the marks from it.

    * Soak orange peel in milk for at least 5 hours. Make a thick paste of it and add some camphor powder in it. Apply it on the face and rinse off with lukewarm water when dries. It prevents from getting acne and clears the complexion.

    * You can dry orange peels in sun and then can make a powder of it. Make a paste with rose water and rinse off when dries.

    * Sandalwood powder is extremely good in healing acne prone skin. Make a paste of it with rose water and apply on face and neck. Wash off when dries. It also makes the complexion clear and smooth.

    * Neem leaves have extremely good healing agents for acne prone skin. You can boil neem leaves in water and can use this water to splash on the skin several times a day to reduce the acne and their marks. You can add this boiled neem water to the calamine powder or sandal wood powder to make a paste.

    * Soak neem leaves in hot water till the leaves become soft. Now make a paste of these leaves in the same water and apply on the acne. You can leave it even overnight on the skin. It heals the acne and the scar, which comes after acne is not that dark.

    * Skin, which comes out from the neem tree stem, is very useful in healing the acne. You can rub it on a thick surface in little water where it gives a brown paste in result. This paste if applied on the acne heals it much faster than many other established acne treating creams.

    * Strawberry leaves if placed on the acne helps in healing the acne.I have horrible oily/ acne prone skin, any remedies?
Believe it or not, ordinary face washes can actually make your skin worse, this is because the oil comes right off of your hands and onto your skin.

Try using an astrigent instead. Neutrogena's Clearing Astrigent works fabulously and its easy to use.

Use a cotton ball to apply the astrigent so that no oil is transferred to your face.

    Hope this helps! :]
Olive oil is actually really good, dats what i heard i dont have acne but i use olive oil on zit scars n dey go away ... thing is olive oil is lighter than ordinary veg. oil dats y dey recommend ppl with high blood pressure to drink a teaspoon everyday ... but u gotta get that fact straight to be sure

But I'm absolutely sure about the acne thing, just wash your face first with soap(natural if possible or use baby soap instead) and den apply a light coat of olive oil on your face everyday ... its also good as a moisturizer, just dont go out directly into the sun after u put oil so it wudnt darken ur face

    God bless!
    Wow! 3 times a day?

I'm sorry to say, but in the long run that will not be good for your skin.

Ok, so I've had the same problem for YEARS! IT was AWFUL, I hated it, and lost all self-confidence.

Then I found cliinique :) I KNOW it is pretty expensive, but it is SO worth it! I find that drugstore acne products just ruin my skin and make it worse. I highly suggest splurging a little for your skin; you'll be happy you did 20 years from now.

If you invest in this system, within three weeks you're guaranteed to have clear skin. If you don't, there's a problem.

Just listen to your skin-- work with it. Call clinique if you have a problem and they'll talk to you about it for free :)

And if they dont explain to you how to use it, just remember get in the habit of PATTING! NO MORE RUBBING! (repeat after me) NO MORE RUBBING! Pat on the facial cleanser (scrubbing/circling will spread the dirt ont he surface of your skin = more breakouts). Splash your face with water gently. Pat dry your face- gently! Then put the toner on a cotton ball/round- I prefer a cotton round. and just do a full facial sweep. don't press to hard, just makeup sure that it gets on all your face skin. To your hairline and under your chin also. and remember-- stay beneath that peak of your cheek bone beneath your eye. If you go above it, you'll cause problems. Pat on moisturizer :)

3 min and you are done!

    I hope this helps..

if you have any more questions DO NOT hesitate to contact me! I'd love to help ya out!
If you cant wash it three times a day like you need to, try using a toner when your unable to wash.

What's the best foundation for oily and acne prone skin?

i'm using acne medication from my dermatologist and it's working but school is starting soon for me and i want a foundation to cover up my flaws (black heads, redness, large pores, oily skin and acne - yeah, i have horrible skin).

i'm hearing liquid foundation clogs up pores, powder foundation gives you a cakey look, etc-- ugh! i don't know what i should be looking for tomorrow when i go shopping at Ulta, since this is my first time getting any type of makeup. (i'm 16) x)

please help. What's the best foundation for oily and acne prone skin?
I would buy Urban Decay Make up... Since you're a teen, it won't be too harsh on your face and it's really gentle. Urban Decay make up is made with all vegan ingredients so it won't harm your skin. I'm 17 and I use it and my skin hasn't had a problem with it ( and I have really sensitive skin). However the downside is that their products are a bit pricey, but I would say it is well worth it!

BTW You can also get it at a Macy's store..What's the best foundation for oily and acne prone skin?
    definitely go for mineral (:

and i always recommend this for people but you should try neutrogena wave (: its like on the ad a really weird little machine thing that removes makeup, pimples, clogged pores, oily skin etc etc etc (: but you should use this only costs about $20 at the most and for the foundation you should go for a natural mineral to start off with because normal foundation will only clog your pores more. take a look at the link below. Mineral secrets mineral makeup is a great alternative to actual makeup and you should definitely try it out (: good lucck
    Covergirl Trublend whipped foundation.

I use it, and it covers nicely, eliminates shine, doesn't look cakey and most importantly DOESN'T clog pores nearly as much as other foundations do.

But you won't find it at ulta, i don't think.

bare minerals..would be the best and a good concelar...
i have extremellyyyyyy oily skin, and i have acne, plus majorrr blackheads. my face also gets ready very easy because i am pale and a redhead. i have used pretty much all drugstore brands and decided to try something else. i was at macy's one day and one of the women at the elizabeth arden makeup stand stopped me and wanted to put makeup on me because she noticed mine was all over my face because of oil, and my skin was discolored. she used the Elizabeth Arden Pure Finish Mineral Powder Foundation. and i must say, it is AMAZING! it lasts all day, and has medium to heavy coverage. clears all my acne and blackheads aren't visible. covers my redness, everything. i looooove ittt! and the cool thing is, even though elizabeth arden is more expensive, you pretty much always get a tonnn of free stuff. seriously, i just wanted the foundatio and i walked out with blush, eyeshadow, liner, lipstick, and tonsss of other stuff. it's definitely worth the money, and that stuff is the greatest. of course, on days it's extremelyyyyy hottt, you may have to use an oil sheet around your oily spots, because it may get a little greasy feeling, but def. won't show up. greatest stuff ever made! trust meee.

Is Clearasil Moisturizer a good moisturizer? Does It Work good for acne prone skin? Will it work with proactiv

Will it work with proactiv? Is Clearasil Moisturizer a good moisturizer? Does It Work good for acne prone skin? Will it work with proactiv
dont use clearisil with proactiv. thats a disaster waiting to happen. use oil of olay or ponds as a moisturizer. i had severe acne when i was in high school. proactiv is good as long as you moisturize and stay out of the sun. dont use clearasil bc it contains acid that will dry out your skin which is no good cuz that causes wrinkly skin when your older. proactiv has a moisturizer also. it should be in the little manuel that came with the box. try that also!Is Clearasil Moisturizer a good moisturizer? Does It Work good for acne prone skin? Will it work with proactiv
use proactive only. it works. and sometimes mixing moisturizers can make your face break out. and avoid makeup except occasionally.
Be careful using other products containing salicylic acid with Proactive - you can actually overwhelm your face with too much product and which leads to drying out and cause it to break out more. Check out the ingredients of anything you use and watch how much salicylic acid is in them. I would steer clear of a moisturizer with it in it as Proactive already has so much in the steps. Just make sure whatever you use that is is non greasy and says noncomedogenic (sp) on the label as that means it won't clog pores.
    I dont know.

    But try this

    Get a bowl

    Boil some water

Take a towel and put it over your head

Let the steam rise.. its good for your pores!!

Do this for about a week.. and your skin should look GREAT!
All i know is that Clearasil is a very medeocer brand of skin care products. If i were you i would spend a little more money and use something better.

  • Which foundation is best for acne prone skin?

I have used this highly informative information and it worked for me in getting rid of my pesky acne. And you don't need to buy expensive acne cream either! http://www.theknowguide.com/acnefree.htm鈥?/a>Which foundation is best for acne prone skin?
I would recommend Affordable Mineral Makeup. I have tried a few others, but they either contains small amounts of preservatives or are made up with a lot of fillers.

It brings out your natural beauty while minimizing any flaws or wrinkles. It is multi-purpose and very versatile. Affordable Mineral Makeup is micro-formulated using the highest quality minerals and botanicals; being naturally preservative and irritant-free it is also weightless and incredibly long-wearing. It does not clog pores and it has a naturally high SPF. It helps to calm and soothe irritated skin with its zinc content, and is water resistant. Providing excellent coverage.

It does not contian Bismuth Oxychloride which soem other mineral makeups use as a cheap filler and lead to clogged pores and breakouts.Which foundation is best for acne prone skin?
Mineral make up is your best bet. it only contains 4 ingredients, instead of 20 nasty things you've never heard of nor could you pronounce. I recommend Everyday Minerals. It's inexpensive, good quality, and lasts a pretty long time. Check it out for yourself!!!

    mineral makeup.
    use nitrogena

    skin clearing make up.

    clean make up

its has sylic acid in it

so it help with breaks outs and helps them from comning back
i would recommend Microdermebrasion to smooth out your face and minimize the scars. Ponds has a gentle microdermebrasion kit that you can use daily. Also try Neutrogena Scar Fading peel. I swear, my skin tone has evened out and my scars are going away. I have skin like yours, after a blemish goes away, a scar appears. Since I added those two to my daily skin cleansing regimen, my skin has seriously cleared up and I'm even getting fewer and fewer blemishes! Every once in a while I get a blemish which is nothing.

As for makeup, I would recommend Clinique. Its oil free and has SPF in it! It has a matte finish and covers up pretty well. I also started using mineral foundation...the Loreal Bare Naturale works great! Bare Essencuals is ok, but I don't care for it.

The price for Clinique is about 12-20 American dollars for the foundations and face powders and the Bare Naturale brand is about 15 American dollars...but they are worth every penny!

    Good luck! Hope this helps!

i don't have pimples, i just have like little bumps in my cheeks and very dry cheeks and eyes, and i am going to start using Clinique. my aunt uses Bare essentials, and i think it's really good.
I use Bare Minerals and I like it...it gives a good coverage and makes my skin tone even. I've never tried Murad.. so can't say anything about that. I hope it works for you! Good luck and best wishes......
Dear, I would recommend you to find Manhattan Cosmetics brand, there are special really well-working anti-bacterial and adapt for acne-prone skin both powders and foundations. They are proven and is one of the top German brand selling in Europe. Personally, I am more than satisfied from those products. As to Bare Escentuals, yes, they are good, but I am not convinced that are the best. Murad products are too advertised, but unfortunately do not make ';mirracles';.

Wish you luck and many smiles.

    Have a great day!
yeah...I use a prescriptives cleanser and then proactive repairing lotion followed by prescriptives moisturizer...but it's what works for me. all skin is different. Just use whatever your skin responds to best.

What are some good facial cleansers for acne-prone oily skin? ?

Please mention a specific one you've used and not just the brand name as they have many range. Thanks a lot. What are some good facial cleansers for acne-prone oily skin? ?
Any of the Neutrogena blemish/acne washes are pretty good. They are oil-free and mild (usually 2.5% Salicylic Acid). If you have tried that brand and didn't like it, and don't really have an acne problem but rather just oily skin and acne-prone, try Murad's Clarifying Cleanser. It is anti-bacterial, deep cleansing, and great for combination to oily skin. If you go this route, I would recommend doing a complete kit from them (it really works best that way to control oil and prevent and treat breakouts). They have a 30-day size kit called Murad Acne Complex. You can find it on Murad.com, sephora, skinstore.com...What are some good facial cleansers for acne-prone oily skin? ?
I don't know what country you are from but in my country there is a very good brand called Ree-Bonn which controls the moisture and balances the dryness. Another brand which i would recommend if Ree-Bonn isnt available in your country is Garnier. But you should be happy to have oily skin because people with oily skin will not get wrinkles as soon as dry skinned people. Avoid touching your pimples.
i use the cheap St. Ives Apricot Scrub blemish and blackhead control. it makes my skin feel really clean and it works, because i rarely breakout. rarely.

Home made recipes for acne-some homemade packs are really helpful in preventing the acne and reducing their marks from the skin.

Calamine powder is one of the best things to reduce the acne and excess oil from the skin. Take two spoonful of calamine powder and make a paste of it with rose water. Apply it on all over your face and neck. It clears the skin and reduces the marks from it.

Soak orange peel in milk for at least 5 hours. Make a thick paste of it and add some camphor powder in it. Apply it on the face and rinse off with lukewarm water when dries. It prevents from getting acne and clears the complexion.

http://www.beautytips.ayurvediccure.com/鈥?/a>Anyone recommend a very good skin cream on acne prone black skin?
Usually the skin gets really dry before the acne heals up--in other words, it gets worse before it gets better. Make an appointment to see your doctor again to tell her you're not happy with the treatment so far to see what else they can do. You're right that the vaseline is the best for moisture. One trick you can do is use it at night only. Wash your face, and then when it's just a bit damp, slather on the petrolatum, and that helps to keep that moisture in. You can wash your face in the morning. : )

I've used both. I like Neutrogena very much. Clean %26amp; clear is a bit stronger, and a bit rough on my skin, makes it burn. There is at some malls, an actual neutrogena booth and they tell you exactly what products to use for your skin type.

I used to use Lancome, and I switched, cause I liked how easy it was to use, for a lesser price. Definately buy the moisturizing sunblock, very helpful!

    Benzoyl Peroxide, any strenth

    Facial Mask, green clay type

    Clean dry towel

Wash your skin lightly with an all-natural bar soap. I use Dr. Bronners Lavender bar soap. Be careful not to scrub your skin. All you need to do is to create a nice lather all over and rinse well with clean water.

While your skin is still wet, pour about 2 Tbsp. of Baking Soda (Sodium Bicarbonate) into your hand. Add to it just enough water to make a paste. Apply the paste all over your face and light work it around your face in circular motions for about 1 minute. Be careful not to press to hard, just use light circular motions. Rinse well with clean water.

Dry your skin by patting it lightly with a towel. Apply the Benzoyl Peroxide ONLY to the active acne spots. Allow to dry and then dab a little mud mask only on the spots. Leave on overnight.

You will gradually reduce the use of Benzoyl Peroxide as your skin clears until you do not use it at all. The Baking Soda works very quickly. What can i do for oily/acne prone skin?how can i get my face clear without getting expensive?
    i donno,facial???
Considering how important it is to a person's self concept and self confidence [and no... I'm not a doctor's financial consultant] I'd say going to the dermatologist is cheap at whatever price.
The best bet is not just try a bunch of random stuff over the counter that isn't guarenteed to work. If I were you, I would cut to the chase and see a Dermatologist about getting a prescription acne med. to use for a year.

I got antibiotic pills, facewash, and cream to use and within a month my acne was gone! I've tried weekly facials, Pro-Activ, tons of other over the counter stuff and none of it worked. But the stuff I got from the Derm. was totally worth the price and it pretty much is guarenteed to work...saves a lot of money that would be spent on stuff that doesnt work! (Plus trying stuff that doesn't work and letting acne continue on only leaves more opportunity for scarring.)

    Good luck!

I have oily dry acne prone skin. what should i use to wash my face and 4 foundation?

The new mineral makeups are powder - which will help absorb the oil, and mineral - which won't clog your pores.

Proactive is a popular face wash, my sisters both use it with great results. This combined with the mineral makeup should give you the healthiest combination for your skin.I have oily dry acne prone skin. what should i use to wash my face and 4 foundation?
Do you mean you have oily AND dry skin? Well, if its more oily than dry, which I'm assuming it is because you're acne prone, then I suggest using a cleanser with salicylic acid or benzoil peroxide. Neutrogena's old fashioned Acne wash, the orange gel looking one, is great. If you have oily skin, this will dry it right up. If you have regular skin,or dry skin, it will burn your face off. But yeah, if its oily, its Perfect. Then, if you plan on not wearing makeup, then i suggest a very light moisturizer such as oil of olay with SPF. If you plan on wearing makeup, try a mattifying primer with SPF such as one by Smashbox. Then skip the foundation and compact pressed powder, and opt for a couple of buffs with a loose powder such as Bare Minerals. Don't want to shell out bucks for a Bare Minerals kit? They sell just the loose powder foundation alone for 20 bucks which is about what a good powder would cost anyways.I have oily dry acne prone skin. what should i use to wash my face and 4 foundation?
I use the Body Shop's seaweed cleanser and moisturizer, and they've really helped my skin; it started clearing up in a about a week, and I haven't had more than the occasional zit since I've started using it. And I recently added the Tea Tree Oil facial mask - smells a bit funny, but my skin's looking even better now.

As for foundation... I would recommend that you don't use it, period. Maybe concealer on bad zits, but my experience with foundation is that it clogs my pores up and makes it even worse.
I'm totally the same way!!! I suggest to use a cleanser that is meant for blackheads even if u don't have. Blackheads,it removes Oil from you face with its tough texture. Neutrogsna is the best it has pads and wash for it, also use markymay foundation because it is really good to make the face less oily
Cleansing: ProActive - only 2.5% Benzoil Peroxide, %26amp; a little glycolic too. The kit includes a lightweight moisturizer with sunscreen.

Makeup: Bare Minerals is the BOMB! Try to get to a store like Ulta where you can try it on first!
