Has anyone with acne prone skin tried strivectin?

I would like to suggest some things natural and safe. Go to healthquest.peoplesway.com and look at Oil of Mink and also at PRO MC-- this is a male hormone balancing cream but is totally safe for either sex to use on pimples. Most pimples are caused by a lack of zinc and just a tiny dab of this cream can help. If you register for free (must be of age) you will get your own website to order through and will save about 37% over retail.
no,but the best products for acne skin is proactiv solutions.I have nice skin cause of it.it,s really good.

What is the best drugstore cleanser for oily and acne prone skin??

i have some pimple scars..from popping :S which i know i shouldnt be doing.... oily skin and a few pimples. im looking for something that clarifies and cleans AND that actually works.

IM CURRENTLY USING clean %26amp;clear Deep Action Cream Cleanser BUT its for sensitive skin....Ive tried neutrogena oilfree acne wash( made it worse) %26amp; cetaphil in the past.

..I heard that clearasil cleared up my friends' friend skin up..unno about it though...What is the best drugstore cleanser for oily and acne prone skin??
try st ives apricot scrub the one for oily/acne prone skin it has sacilyc acid in it ( =What is the best drugstore cleanser for oily and acne prone skin??
OMG you have to use clean %26amp; clear oil absorbing sheets..

they are fantastic.
DO NOT TRY PRO ACTIV, YOU'LL ONLY WASTE YOUR MONEY, try, ACNEEFREE, it's the best, helps me.
I always used a cleaner called Sea Breeze. It's strong, smells good, and it's been around for years. Then use the acne Rx after that.
I use St.Ives Apricot Scrub. It keeps my skin clear
Neutreogena has the best face washes. I have one called Acne Free Face Wash. It's in the orange bottle. For $3. I use it twice a day, once in the morning, and once at night.

Clean %26amp; Clear has an astringent. It's this liquidy thing in a bottle for $3. You just pour some on a cotton ball then gently rub it onto the acne areas. You do this 2-3 times a day. It dries up the skin (only works for oily skin acne), clears the pores, and gets rid of all the dirt. I got great results in as little as a week.

No, Clearasil didn't work for me at all.

Don't use Proactive either. It doesn't work. I spent so much money on it.

Don't use anything with those morning burst beads in it. It really irritates the acne and will make it red and much worse.
Nothing try a soap called flora from El grullo Mexico its really good its won prizes in Spain it removes acne and lightens and tightens face.
i tried a lot of acne washes, but the small content of acne medicine in them was actually making my skin worst. Because it dries your skin, and when your skin is dry it needs to make up for lost oils. ( the good kind of oil) . So it overproduces oil which led to my acne. So i found a gentle water based cleanser Evian. instead of harsh '; exfoliating beads'; ( which can tear your skin, and cause acne too) i use a simple soft face washcloth ( gently) to exfoliate and my skin looks sooo much better and healthier. when the weather is dry i use a light vitamin e lotion, really light tho. Or nicole miller light face moisturizing cream ( very very good) remember that everyones skin is different. i even went on proactive and it caused huge grey dry scaly patches on my face. so i stopped using it. Everyones skin is different., and you might need to try out a few different cleanser before you choose one that works. Or even a dermatologist ( but my doctor put me on a topical gel which made my skin sooo much worse) Also if i drink 8 glasses of water a day my skin looks great too!!! good luck!!
well i would say use neutrogena but seeing as you said it made it worse. i would try aveno:) it worked for me.. i use pro-active now and i know its expensive.. but it really does work well.. hope you find something that works!:D

mady
nuetrogena acne stress control foaming wash it treats blemishs and prevents new one from forming it's great!!
i use St.Ives. it's for oily/ance prone skin. i don't get pimples that much but it makes your skin soft and pimple free! it works great. try it!!
Try St.Ives Apricot Scrub. It works really well on my skin. Also Neutrogena Clear Pore Mask/Cleanser is really awesome.
I used to have lots of acne, but then i got clearasil ultra daily face wash. That really helped. I also use the vanishing cream, and sometimes the tinted cream.

My face is really clear now, so maybe it will work on you.
I used to have the worst skin ever. I'm still oily but I don't break out that much. I've been using clean and clear morning burst face wash for about 2-3 years and I love it. It doesn't dry out my skin or anything, it feels great. After I wash my face I use clinique moisturizing gel, it's good for oily skin because it doesn't have oils in it. And I also use ponds face cloths after a long day and a quick clean up. if you have a pimple, don't pop it use like on the acne spot cream. I use the clean and clear on the spot stuff, dries it out right away and I don't touch it so I don't get scars. I'm planning on being a dermatologist so I've learned a lot haha. good luck.
try using VMV superskin #3 for oily skin.it dries up pimples and control oil in skin because it has clindamycin combined with retinoic acid .Not only it dries pimples,it makes scar unnoticeable because of retinoic acid. pores are also unnoticeable.for facial wash try derm A tretinoin for acne prone skin.this removes excessive oil on face and gives smoother flawless face.try this two.it really works!!!!!!!!!!!
Have you tried Stridex pads? What about using a sugar scrub or other abrasive cleanser to remove impurities, cleansing with cold water to shrink pores, let your face air dry %26amp; then apply a light moisturizer. Not applying any moisturizer will further promote your skins oil production. Your body will actually react like you have dry skin and try to produce more oil to protect it. Good luck!

Best moisturizer for combination acne-prone skin?Hurry please!?

my mom is gonna buy me a moisturizer today, but i don't know which one to get. it has to be light but still hydrating, and does not interfere with acne. thanks!Best moisturizer for combination acne-prone skin?Hurry please!?
Neutrogena was one that freaking amazing but you have to get the who acne wash and night applicator. But the moisturizer is amazing!! Not heavy, not greasy prefect for combination skin!! This whole box set is great!!!Best moisturizer for combination acne-prone skin?Hurry please!?
The absolute best moisturizer for acne is Mary Kay's Oil Control Lotion.

It completely saps up all oil on your face and makes your face super smoothe. It keeps oil from forming on your face for most of the day, so it keeps your foundation and makeup perfect.

You can find it on ebay for cheap.
use shiseido moisturizer...it is water based and very light...works great for me

Can i use baby shampoo to clean professional makeup brushes?(i have acne prone skin will this be okay)?

I only buy expensive professional brushes and I want to preserve their life span.

Here's my routine.

I clean my brushes almost daily with a brush cleanser (just to get the color off of them).

But...

Once a week I thoroughly wash them (gently!! dont ruffle the bristles too much!) with Johnson's Baby Shampoo. Just a little dab, and run under lukewarm water (never too hard, you could mess with the glue) until the water washes clean.

Press them gently onto a towel and let them dry on their side or upside down if at all possible. Don't place them face up as you can possible alter their shape while drying.

They will be soft, and clean. I've been using this technique for years and my brushes are still like new.

good luck :o)Can i use baby shampoo to clean professional makeup brushes?(i have acne prone skin will this be okay)?
Yes that will be perfectly fine. You don't need to buy any of those expensive brush cleaners when baby shampoo will do the same thing! Can i use baby shampoo to clean professional makeup brushes?(i have acne prone skin will this be okay)?
better to use something that will cut the oil, dawn dish liquid. make sure you rinse really good. and let them air dry
I've seen this question yesterday, it was just new that time. Hmmm... i read somebody's answer who said that there's actually no particular soap that you should use in cleaning your make up brushes. As long as it can clean it well, that's all that matters!
Yes baby shampoo is gentle,it will work let the brushes

air dry though!!
Yes of course it is okay!! Although you might want to wash it with some antibacterial handsoap first!! I usually clean my brushes every other week or so with handsoap, and then shampoo and conditioner (just to keep the hairs soft and in good condition).

  • I have very acne prone skin and i just bought a pore refining mask. how often should i use it?

well my sister had the same problem so she used her everyday and her acne went away but i think you should talk to your doctor before using it because you might not know if you allergic to anything and see what you doctor recommends and see how often you should use it OK

What foundation is the best for NOT making your skin break out? even almay for acne prone skin makes me break?

try mineral makeup. It won't clog your pores.

Or just buy a primer (mac does a really good one) that also stops your pores being clogged.

My skin is really really sensitive and MAC doesn't make it break out. Just remember to take it all off with make up remover every day and do a face mask once a week. And try not to use powder over foundation, it really irritates your skin. One or the other, not both! I.D Bare Minerals [:
I'm someone who is constantly trying new beauty/skin care products. My face is oily and very prone to pimples and nasty breakouts. I've recently come across Maybelline's new ';Mineral Power'; line and it's awesome :) I'd also recommend anything by Physician's Formula. Everything they make is made with people like us in mind (those w/ sensitive skin). So go out and try either or (Maybelline is a bit less expensive) and hopefully you'll be as happy as I am :)
mineral make up will always be a best choice. it doesn't clog your pores and its full of great things for your skin. Its a fresh and young look that doesnt weigh down you face.another thing i would do is exfoliate your skin twice a week to get rid of dead skin and oil that would clog up skin but remember to use a light moisturizer
defianatly use mineral make up!!! it wont clog ur pores
    maybelline mineral powdered foundation/

it covers up pretty good ,and it doesn't make me break out because it is oil free, and i usually break out easily too.
I have very sensitive acne prone skin...I started using Cover FX mineral foundation...it seems to be working well for me...you should try it...you can get it at Saphora...they have a lot of shades and mineral foundations are suppose to be good for your skin too!!...good luck!!

Virgin coconut oil works very well on me.

It's natural and cheap. What's d best moisturizer for a guy.. with acne prone skin??
My recommendation (and I have a *lot* of experience) is to try Clean %26amp; Clear's Advantage Oil Free Acne Moisturizer. It has a good, clean, non-girly scent. It's also not too oily and doesn't burn, either. Because it contains salicylic acid, it won't clog your pores. It's not very expensive at all, and a little bit goes a long way.

You might also want to try Neutrogena's Oil-Free Fresh Moisture Ultra-Light Moisturizer. Both of these are available on drugstore.com. There's no need to get anything more expensive -- more expensive can frequently mean more unncessary ingredients that can commonly cause burning and irritation on skin that is being treated for acne.
Depending on where you live, try to track down a Mary Kay Consultant. We have products that will help with the acne and the dryness too.
Try an organic lotion without all of the harsh chemicals for the type of your skin. Your skin is a living organism and sucks up everything you put on it. I've used Jasons organic aloe vera lotion forever and love it in all weather!!! :)
    Proactive!

Anyone know of a Cream or lotion for Oily/acne prone skin, anti-wrinkle or firming with SPF sun protection?

I would like a cream that doesn't make me break out since I have oily skin but I know I need sun protection plus either wrinkle or firming properties.

I recommend Arbonne's NutriMinC RE9 Day Moisturizer. It lasts FOREVER! It has an SPF 8 and a ton of anti-aging properties. It also works great with oily skin. I use it every day and recommend it to anyone who will listen. Fabulous! Also, more natural than most.

nothing really works that well for me but eating healthier and touching my face less and wearing only eye shadow instead of a full face of make up helps
I'm not sure where you're from but here in Canada you can go to the drugstore or wal-mart and pick up PanOxyl face wash and acne gel, it's the best for clearing up acne. It doesn't contain harsh additives like salicylic acid or fragrance. It has benzol peroxide in it and it basically will dry up your acne. Trust me...I've been seeing a dermatologist for about 15 yrs . and have been on accutane 6 times lol.
Use products that contain salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. Those two ingredient are effective against acne.
please try this... it really works

dot your skin with antibacterial handsoap

do it before bed and let it sit at least 15 minutes if not longer

then rinse and put on dots of polysporin.. this works like crazy and even when you get a break out it gets rid of the redness...

acne is infection.. and this is a quick fix and a permenant one
I spent ALOT of $$$ treating acne, until my doc recommended baking soda.First, use a nice steamy washcloth and lay it on the areas where you need your pores loosened. Not too hot or you will irritate skin in part two. Second, make a light paste of baking soda (baking soda is a gentle base, a chemical opposite of the acid in the oils in your skin) and water. The paste should not be too dry/ thick, just thick enough to stick to face. Third, GENTLY apply to face. Do not rub on sensitive areas such as under the eyes. Leave on for around two minutes. Rinse thoroughly. Paste can be added directly to acne and left overnight. Note: you will NOT get immediate results, but breakouts should be significantly reduced, within two weeks Enjoy your new, improved skin!!!
I have struggled with acne for many years. I still continue to struggle with acne in my mid-20s and always seem to have a few breakouts. I have tried a variety of skin care products over the years. It's like I can never have perfectly clear skin anymore. But after using Zenmed products it's much better now and I am Totally satisfied with product quality and results. I recommend Zenmed products for sure!
I use neutrogena. It's affordable and you can purchase it at Walmart, Target, Walgreens, Rite Aid, other drugstores ;].
I have been using the Zenmed products for about a month, and I have noticed a change in my skin. I started Zenmed products 7 weeks ago and it's much better. I love the fact that it鈥檚 all natural and pure. I am Totally satisfied with product quality and results. Try it once...
I use benzoyl peroxide 10%.It can come as a mask to cover them so no girls can see them.

Hi! I am a professional makeup artist and skin specialist. I have used soo many different mediums and brands of makeup and let me tell you the best thing I have found for acne prone skin hands down is called Faerie Organic Minerals. They are light, airy, cover very well, cover redness, are good for your skin and leave a dewy glow. They use no preservatives, no chemicals looks like your skin only better. Their minerals also help acne get better due to the Boron Nitride which is antibacterial and zinc oxide which is anti-inflammatory. I have used Bare Escentuals in the past and I thought it was ok, (although it leaves you greasy and you need to reapply many times a day) until I read up on what is actually in their products. They say they are all natural and preservative free (they are NOT) if you flip over the mineral veil it says methylparabean, this is a chemical preservative with links to cancers. They also say pure minerals yet they use an ingredient called Bismuth Oxychloride which is not an actual mineral but a metal that has been processed with tin and copper. It is well known to cause itching, rash, irritation and in some cases acne. (you can google bare escentuals bismuth oxychloride itch and see how many pages of people with irritation to this ingredient) Neutrogena has a LOT of fillers and looks cheap and cakey on, and sheer cover is dreadfully orange looking on everybody I have seen it on. I would highly recommend you try the free sample kit from Faerie Organic so you can see how good your face looks. It comes with 2 foundations, bronzer and sheer veil (oil absorber). You can check it out here if you are interested its on the home page.........http://www.faerieorganic.comBest mineral makeup for acne prone skin?
you are so right! i used bare essentuials and i broke out and never knew why. thanks you for telling me this, i really appreciate it, i'm going to try this faerie organic one! Report Abuse

Hi use Zinplex Forte tablets for a great skin, they are available at www.zinplexskin.com and consist of natural Zinc, Selenium and Vit A. It will heal your skin and boost your immune system and has no side effects. You can then use any makeup on a healthy skin.

Try it, it works and they will soon have a Face Wash and Gel available on the website above. They also contain Zinc and Selenium and will keep your skin healthy.

Your hair, nails and skin will be healthy with this product and it works great!
I have always had luck with mineral makeup I find on ebay. I really wish I remember the link. I got one oz. of the foundation and one oz of the veil for $20. It is a huge amount that has lasted me a year and I'm really not running short.

I tried oxy5/10, Tea Tree and those does not really work well enough.

    Any tips?

I suggest, have a strict sugar free diet. Fat intake can highly contribute to your problem also. Using acne cream alone would not solve your problem, you have to avoid sugary and fatty foods. Drink 2 liters of water daily and avoid fizzy drinks. Eat at least 3 to 5 serving of fruits each day. For your main meal you can have salad and lean meat. Have at least 8 hours of sleep every night as melanin is produce during the night. Melanin is the hormone responsible for skin.Applying acne cream itself could be harmful for you skin without doctor's advice. See you doctor to try some product like the one listed below.

    Panoxyl

    Zyporex

    Acneticin

    Orovo Acne Kit

    Oxycerin

    Asso Gold Cleansing Bar

Most of all be stress free.Good luck!Treatment for acne prone skin?
I used to have very serious adult acne. I learned that acne is a very complicated condition and you need to treat it inside out. Topical treatments, like ProActiv, only mask the symptoms. That's why they usually stop working after a while.

If they stop working then your only hope is attack acne inside-out.

Healthy diet is very important, but it may not be enough. Many people try diets but don't get clear. Diet fixes only part of the problem.

You need to understand what happens inside of you that gives you acne. After you understand that it's easy to figure out what you need to do to get clear. Different people need to do different things, but it's really easy to figure out once you know what goes on inside of you.

There's a really good and free email series that explains this. I suggest you check it out, because it's more than what I can type here. You can check it out here:

    http://www.natural-acne-solution.com/acn鈥?/a>
Drink tons of water, don't eat fried foods, exercise regularly, take fish oil pills, use neutrogena products twice a day. Whatever you do, don't take antibiotics! They are horrible for your body (i learned that the hard way-- permanent damage to my body). You can also try birth control pills. That is what I do, and it reallllly helps!

Masks - Take Care Of Your Skin

http://www.askaquery.com/Answers/qn1674.鈥?/a>What kind of make would work best for acne prone skin?
Bare Minerals. I've had acne for years! Think about applying liquid glop to your face! That's what liquid foundation is!

Bare minerals doesn't clog your pores. I've been acne free for 5 years and counting.
    Non comedogenic and hypoallergenic.
I use clinique foundation and concealer and it works best for me. You need to use something that is noncomodogenic (contains no oil) so that it dosen't add to the oil your face is producing.
Before you try putting on any crap, try Accutane from a dermotologist..that will sort out the acne...been there, done that..and clear skin into my thirties!!
DON'T WEAR MAKE UP IF YOU ALREADY HAVE PIMPLES. GET RID OF THE PIMPLES.
Anything that's labeled as non-comedogenic (this means it won't clog pores.) Many makeup lines like Almay now carry products for acne prone skin. Bare minerals is also great because it is natural and doesn't contribute to more acne. Physician's Formula makes great powders, blushes, and bronzers for acne-prone skin, but they can be a little expensive. Good luck on your search!
make up: bare minerals or a cheaper version such as physicians formula mineral wear

mask: queen helene mint julep mask
Accutane is pretty good, but the Clinique Blemish-Control line really helps clear up things.

What liquid foundation will not breakout my acne-prone skin?

    Hi,

It's a myth that foundation causes spots - it doesn't if you get a decent one, that's right for your skin and you remove it completely every night.

Try and find one that suits you best (Clinique have a skin report on their website where you can find the right foundation for your skin type), and then get a really good make-up remover and cleanser too. After you've taken your make-up off, get a wet cotton wool pad, rub it over your face, and if there is no colour on it, then you don't need to cleanse anymore.

    I hope that helped you.

~Mystic. What liquid foundation will not breakout my acne-prone skin?
One of the most important things to consider when choosing a foundation is the type of skin you have, and the sensitivity of your skin.

When using a foundation for acne to hide acne blemishes and scars it is important to choose a foundation that best matches your natural skin tone. (the closer it is to your face color the better the coverage)

    Good products to use:

Revlon liquid foundation. i use it and it doesn't clog my pores or make my face oily.

You could also try makeup that is designed to treat acne while you are wearing it. - it is neutrogena brand. they have concealer, liquid foundation, and loose powder that treats acne as well as prevents new blemishes from forming. (its a good makeup, has excellent coverage)

hope i helped! acne is a drag :(What liquid foundation will not breakout my acne-prone skin?
I don't have acne, but i have the most sensitive skin.

I wore mac for 3 hours and broke out. That's how bad i am.

But the foundations i find i am ok with are:

Benefit- non fiction foundation (You may not like this though, it is a very light coverage foundation)

Revlon colourstay- More coverage. Great foundation, but i just wear it when i'm going out at night.

Max factor miracle touch liquid illusion foundation- This is one of my favourites. It's decent coverage, very natural looking, great texture and doesn't irritate my skin at-all.

In fact, most max factor foundations are great for my skin.

Clinique supefit foundation also didn't break out my skin (it's oil free), but i didn't like the product so gave it up.

The body shop all in one face base (i think that's the right name) is a great foundation. It is a powder foundation though.

Great to wear alone when you need a bit of coverage but it's also good to wear over a lighter liquid foundation as a powder for more coverage. And it still provides a natural look.

It's my favourite powder foundation and doesn't affect my skin.

This is just what i have experienced though. Best just to try out things for yourself.

Bare in mind, i do not have acne. But i have skin that doesn't agree with most products and these have been fine with me.
CoverGirl is amazing. My skin gets very pimply sometimes, but CoverGirl works great. (: MAC and Clinique also have good foundations. If you're willing to spend a lot, go to your mall's makeup counter and find Estee Lauder. They have amazing foundations. :) Good luck!
I have oily and acne prone skin and honestly i've tried a bunch of different foundations! Some high end brands and some drug store brands... the ONLY one that doesn't break me our is MAC's studio fix fluid. =]

You could try that, but everyone is different so if that doesn't work, just try other things until you find one that does =]
The BEST foundation i think is dream matte mouse !!
    i don't know.

Don't wash face with active ingredients like salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. Its damaging for skins ph and dries like heck. I recommend aveeno. Its really nice. It heals skin instead of drying it up.What is the best face wash for acne prone, sensitive, dry skin?
I like the neutrogena acne formula bar soap. I follow up with sensitive skin neutrogena moisturizer.
You should try the Unblemish wash from Rodan + Fields. I use the whole regimen and I LOVE IT! The wash is different from other washes because the active ingrediant is sulfur. The sulfur disolves the dirt in your pores. I use that regimen with the Soothe moisturizer that helps hydrate your skin and repair the lipid barrier that causes sensitivity. The products are amazing and are totally worth the money!!! I am a living testimonial of the product. Arbonne has a great NutriMinC Re9 Anti-Aging Day Creme with an SPF of 8 and an Intelligence Daily Moisturizer. Both are pure, safe, beneficial, and made with natural botanicals. They contain nanosphere technology that helps the product to adjust to your specific skin type (applying more moisture is dry areas and less in oily areas) - great for combination and acne prone skin. I use the day creme ever day and I love it. You can purchase Arbonne online and they deliver to Canada. What is the best facial moisturizer for oily, sensitive, acne prone skin?
Just a moisturizer isn't going to help clear your skin, you should use a cleanser made for oily skin and a moisturizer from the same company also specific to sensitive oily skin. I personally feel that Mary Kay is great at personalizing their skin care line to your specific needs. You will get better results when it's partnered with the cleanser, however you can buy just their moisturizer if that is all you need.

I have also heard good thngs about proactive, and MAC. Look for high end skin care. You get what you pay for. What is the best facial moisturizer for oily, sensitive, acne prone skin?
Many people seem to be happy with Proactiv

I love the nutrimin c re9 series I have both dry and oily skin that has some break outs.

I have found with cell turn over (mask/and exfoliating too)

my skin glows and breakouts are less.

Depending on your age they also make a line based for teens to 30 year olds AND have a wonderful less harsh acne line that they offer a free moist. at the moment -

(My son's skin has turned around)

Whatever regime you find stick to it twice a day.

It should have a wash, toner, and day/night cream -
I just started using Paticia Wexler MD skincare line. Its sold at Bath %26amp; Body. She has an acne line as well. I love her products, but they are a bit pricey.

If you want a cheaper brand, Cetaphil is great also.

one that won't make me break out more!

I know Proactiv has a line of cosmetics that supposedly not only don't make you break out but prevent/reduce acne. Maybe try that?

Teen facials, good or bad for acne-prone skin?

I'm 16 and I have mild, slight acne...a little more severe on my chin. With help from a dermatologist I've been able to get my skin crystal clear...the only spot I still have problems with is on my chin, but my derm said that was hormonal so I'm starting the pill for that. Anyway my dad is paying for me to go get some teen facials done at my favourite spa once a month, I believe the exfoliate etc. etc., and the girls there said they could help keep my skin clear and it is specifically made for acne-prone teen skin...I get my eyebrows waxed, legs, arms, my nails done there, everything and I'm pretty trusting in them. However I heard that teen facials can sometimes argrivate the skin and I wouldn't want that to happen since the skin on my chin is very sensitive.

Has anyone ever had one of these before?Teen facials, good or bad for acne-prone skin?
Teen facials will help your skin flush out their toxins. People mistake facials for just putting a mask on your face which is not the case. If that was it, you wouldn't see the results you do from facials. Part of a facial is massage that helps to flush out your lymph system. This type of massage helps to clear out congestion under the skin and can help with hormonal breakouts by circulating the blood better so you don't have a hormonal build up in areas. It's fine for the esthetician to massage over acne, there are various techniques for acne areas that will actually help your skin purge the acne so it's easier to extract and will help keep your skin clearer.

You hear people say facials irritate the skin because a lot of times the people getting the facials don't properly care for their skin and they buy an occlusive product that they think has rid their face of acne but it's actually pushed it below the surface of the skin. When the esthetician starts getting that lymph system moving the acne under the skin starts coming to the surface. The skin is purging itself of those impurities. If they stick with it they'll have clearer skin than they've ever had but most won't because they'd rather push it back below the skin surface and deal with the damage later. You've done things the right way. You've gone to a dermatologist and gotten your skin cleared up so you shouldn't have this effect.

You do need to follow a good skincare regime at home but since you've already been to a dermatologist I'm assuming they've got you on one that is working for you so you don't need to get a whole new skincare regime just make sure to tell the esthetician what you are using and that it's a doctor prescribed regime so she can work with it. She may have one or two products you can add to it to bump the regime up but if she suggests a whole new skincare system then smile politely and tell her no thanks unless you are truly unhappy with yours. Most estheticians won't try and switch you though.

Also, teen facials usually involve the use of a high frequency machine. This uses electrical impulses to kill bacteria below the skins surface. This is very effective for killing hormonal acne breakouts and keeping your skin perfectly clear. Ask if one of the last steps they do can be some high frequency. It just ensures clearer skin.

Enjoy your spa day! Relaxation also helps with acne and preventing stress hormones from wreaking havoc on your skin so have fun! :)Teen facials, good or bad for acne-prone skin?

Teen facials are not aggravating to the skin. One thing to remember is, get them done every four weeks which equals once a month and follow a home regime. Without the home regime it's pointless getting facials. The esthetician should avoid massaging your chin area since it's sensitive.

Best Products for Sensitive, Acne-Prone Skin?

I am a teenager with acne-prone and sensitive skin; I've tried all of the ones that work for my friends, but many of them (ex. Clearasil) have resulted in peeling skin. I'm currently using a Neutrogena bar soap for acne-prone skin, but it hasn't done anything to help. My mother doesn't want to spend too much on skin products for me yet, so if anyone knows of affordable OTC products that would work for my skin type, I'd greatly appreciate any help...Best Products for Sensitive, Acne-Prone Skin?
ProActiv is not best for sensetive skin. That comes from experience.

Ponds and Dove have an Exfoliating Cleanser that work well or Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser (though the exfoliating will help with the acne better).

Use an astringent. Sea Breeze Astringent for Sensitive Skin (inexpensive), Neutrogena Deep Clean Invigorating dual Action Toner (smells good even!) Prescriptives Immediate Matte Skin Conditioning Tonic ( $25),

Moisturize: Biore Lightweight Moisturizer, Clinique Acne Solutions Clearing Moisturizer Oil-Free.

As a teen, I used the clinique 3-step and it worked pretty well. Now Clinique has an Acne Solutions line that would be worth a shot! I think the starter kit for it is about $30.

the ALBA products work really well, and they're organic so there's no chemicals that'll make you itchy or red.

i use them and i really like them.

If you have acne prone skin, what could be a good acne kit?

The absolute best thing to help acne is to get some Tea tree oil and then dilute it with water and dab it on your face. It's very soothing and it cleans your face very well. The great thing about this is that it kills the bacteria specifically that causes acne. It works better than anything out there. If you have acne prone skin, what could be a good acne kit?

  • Jojoba oil increasing acne prone skin?

I am using benzoyl peroxide for my severe acne.I was told to moisturise with jojoba oil after applying the treatment. Now my face is breaking out even worse.I have natural oily skin and it seems any kind of oil i put on my face(whether organic or refined)increases my acne. What i'm i doing wrong? All the oils are breaking me out;coconut oil, avocado oil, jojoba oil, shea butter, all the oil are causing my cystic acne to get worse. My face wash is also drying my face out.Jojoba oil increasing acne prone skin?
Well, try tea tree oil. It is the best of all the oils. This type of oil is not like the others, it doesn't clog your pores. It actually removes excess oil and dries out oil clogged pimples. Tea tree oil has been known for that, and that's why many people have been using it and they all say it works beautifully to remove all pimples and zits. Here's the proper way to apply tea tree oil on:

    1. Wash you skin thoroughly and pat it dry with clean towel.

    2. Wrap an ice cube in a washcloth and hold it over the spot for a minute or two; it'll help bring down the swelling.

    3. Dip the end of a cotton swab into some diluted tea tree oil (available at any pharmacy, and trust me, this oil was meant for the skin!) and dot a tiny amount directly into the pimple.

    4. Leave it alone to heal. Don't pop, pinch, or squeeze pimples, it will only make it worse.

Also, you can dab a bit of alcohol, lemon juice, toothpaste, or vinegar to pimple before going to bed each night. When you wake up the pimple will be gone. This is because lemon juice, alcohol, toothpaste and vinegar will dry the oil out of pimples.Salt mixed with some water also works. Apply the mixture directly into the pimple.

This works SOOOO well! I'm not kidding, and you got to try it!

And, tomato juice works too... you cut the tomato into slices and use it like a cleansing pad; rub it around your face and on pimples and pat dry with towel. You can make it into a natural exfoliating pad by sprinkling some sugar on the surface of the tomato slice and rubbing it all on your face.

Because acne is caused by oil clogged pores, people with oily skin experience blemishes more often. Here are some tips for controlling oily skin:

~ Twice a day, wash with a mild facial soap for oily skin.

~ Lightly exfoliate (never scrub) the whole face.

~ Moisturizing is not necessary everyday, but even oily skin can feel dry. If your skin feels tight, use an oil free moisturizer.

~ For breakouts use a product with AHA, such as Alpha Hydrox.

~ Use products that are oil-free and say they won't clog pores.

~ Sprinkle juice from a pineapple, lemon, or orange into your bath water to keep oil under control.

Hope I helped!Jojoba oil increasing acne prone skin?
i think you really need to see a dermatologist here... if your skin is naturally oily then you shouldn't use an oil based moisturiser. also don't forget to tone. once again using products for oily skin and oil free. a dermatologist will recommend you good products, perhaps even perscription products

Which foundation is best for acne prone skin?

I have used this highly informative information and it worked for me in getting rid of my pesky acne. And you don't need to buy expensive acne cream either! http://www.theknowguide.com/acnefree.htm鈥?/a>Which foundation is best for acne prone skin?
I would recommend Affordable Mineral Makeup. I have tried a few others, but they either contains small amounts of preservatives or are made up with a lot of fillers.

It brings out your natural beauty while minimizing any flaws or wrinkles. It is multi-purpose and very versatile. Affordable Mineral Makeup is micro-formulated using the highest quality minerals and botanicals; being naturally preservative and irritant-free it is also weightless and incredibly long-wearing. It does not clog pores and it has a naturally high SPF. It helps to calm and soothe irritated skin with its zinc content, and is water resistant. Providing excellent coverage.

It does not contian Bismuth Oxychloride which soem other mineral makeups use as a cheap filler and lead to clogged pores and breakouts.Which foundation is best for acne prone skin?
Mineral make up is your best bet. it only contains 4 ingredients, instead of 20 nasty things you've never heard of nor could you pronounce. I recommend Everyday Minerals. It's inexpensive, good quality, and lasts a pretty long time. Check it out for yourself!!!

i would recommend Microdermebrasion to smooth out your face and minimize the scars. Ponds has a gentle microdermebrasion kit that you can use daily. Also try Neutrogena Scar Fading peel. I swear, my skin tone has evened out and my scars are going away. I have skin like yours, after a blemish goes away, a scar appears. Since I added those two to my daily skin cleansing regimen, my skin has seriously cleared up and I'm even getting fewer and fewer blemishes! Every once in a while I get a blemish which is nothing.

As for makeup, I would recommend Clinique. Its oil free and has SPF in it! It has a matte finish and covers up pretty well. I also started using mineral foundation...the Loreal Bare Naturale works great! Bare Essencuals is ok, but I don't care for it.

The price for Clinique is about 12-20 American dollars for the foundations and face powders and the Bare Naturale brand is about 15 American dollars...but they are worth every penny!

    Good luck! Hope this helps!

Is there a general cream out there which is good for dry skin, won't aggrevate my acne and good for keeping skin clear from spots etc??Anyone recommend a very good skin cream on acne prone black skin?
Home made recipes for acne-some homemade packs are really helpful in preventing the acne and reducing their marks from the skin.

Calamine powder is one of the best things to reduce the acne and excess oil from the skin. Take two spoonful of calamine powder and make a paste of it with rose water. Apply it on all over your face and neck. It clears the skin and reduces the marks from it.

Soak orange peel in milk for at least 5 hours. Make a thick paste of it and add some camphor powder in it. Apply it on the face and rinse off with lukewarm water when dries. It prevents from getting acne and clears the complexion.

http://www.beautytips.ayurvediccure.com/鈥?/a>Anyone recommend a very good skin cream on acne prone black skin?
Usually the skin gets really dry before the acne heals up--in other words, it gets worse before it gets better. Make an appointment to see your doctor again to tell her you're not happy with the treatment so far to see what else they can do. You're right that the vaseline is the best for moisture. One trick you can do is use it at night only. Wash your face, and then when it's just a bit damp, slather on the petrolatum, and that helps to keep that moisture in. You can wash your face in the morning. : )

If you want to get rid of acne go to a dermatologist and use what i'm using:

    One word my friend...Roaccutane!

I have had bad acne for many many years and trust me it was a real pain for me...i hated it terribly!

I have been on MANY products such as proactiv(which when you finsih using it brings out the pimples worst), neatrogena, clearasil, ambi and many more!

None of them worked for me beause when i finished using the proactiv which was a waste of my momey the pimples came back out soooooo much worst than it was in the beginning!

I went to my dermatologist last in March and he introduced me to Roaccutane. I decided to use it, and i am NOT dissapointed at all with the excellent results that I have.

I have been using it for a month and 24 days so far and within the first 2 days i had seen results..the pimples were disappearing(thats what we all want right?)

I am still using it because I have to complete my year.

The best part of it is that it is a tablet that you take. Its not a soap or a toner or a 4-5 step procedure that gets on your nerve..just one little tablet.

Its easy and stress free and best of all...Brings results!

You willl not be dissapointed if you try this product.

This product is only available through perscription by a dermatologist.

Use it and see for yourself!

Always wash your face with cool water.

Besides it not just soap, you have to watch your diet and eat less spicy and nonveg food and avoid midday sun from 10AM to 5PM as much as possible.

    Drink 15-20 glasses of water.

Sleep well and keep your hair off your face.

What are some good facial cleansers for acne-prone oily skin? ?

Please mention a specific one you've used and not just the brand name as they have many range. Thanks a lot. What are some good facial cleansers for acne-prone oily skin? ?
Any of the Neutrogena blemish/acne washes are pretty good. They are oil-free and mild (usually 2.5% Salicylic Acid). If you have tried that brand and didn't like it, and don't really have an acne problem but rather just oily skin and acne-prone, try Murad's Clarifying Cleanser. It is anti-bacterial, deep cleansing, and great for combination to oily skin. If you go this route, I would recommend doing a complete kit from them (it really works best that way to control oil and prevent and treat breakouts). They have a 30-day size kit called Murad Acne Complex. You can find it on Murad.com, sephora, skinstore.com...What are some good facial cleansers for acne-prone oily skin? ?
I don't know what country you are from but in my country there is a very good brand called Ree-Bonn which controls the moisture and balances the dryness. Another brand which i would recommend if Ree-Bonn isnt available in your country is Garnier. But you should be happy to have oily skin because people with oily skin will not get wrinkles as soon as dry skinned people. Avoid touching your pimples.
i use the cheap St. Ives Apricot Scrub blemish and blackhead control. it makes my skin feel really clean and it works, because i rarely breakout. rarely.

What is the best scrub for oily and acne prone skin?
I use Zenmed's Facial Cleansing Gel. It's good as it gently removes dirt, bacteria and excess oil, leaving the skin balanced and clear. Other cleansers contain ingredients like benzoyl peroxide and facial oils that cause the body to overcompensate and produce excess oil, but not with this gel. Also good about this cleanser is that it doesn't dry out the skin but leaves the skin soft, smooth and lightly moisturized. It's an excellent cleanser for keeping oil off the skin as well as acne away by keeping the skin and the pores clean.
don't scrub too hard, as this will irritate skin and possibly aggravate acne, making it worse. use an exfoliator 2-3 times a week.

st. ives apricot scrub is recommended by a lot of people. if you live in the UK, Boots skin clear exfoliator is very good.

i like the Vichy Normaderm line of products aswell, and they have an exfoliator. i use the anti imperfection hydrating care moisturiser from vichy normaderm and it is one of the few things that has worked on my skin. it stopped very oily skin and cleared blemishes.
scrubbing/exfoliating itself isn't the best thing for oily and acne prone skin. The advantages are that it reduces dead skin cells which contribute to the formation of spots, but it also spreads bacteria around the skin causing more areas on your face to be infected. It is also very abrasive if you do it too much. So my advice is only use a face scrub only once or twice a week.

Body shop do a really good tea tree range for oily/spotty skin. I use the foaming face wash every morning, and the scrub once a week. My face used to be REALLY spotty and oily but since using these products I haven't had any problems, other than the occasional spot here and there. Always use a good, oil free moisturiser to prevent your skin from drying out.

Also you can make a face pack of little bit of honey and few drops of lemon in it...apply it daily any time for half an hour..it prevents blackheads and lightens blemishes if any..!!
for oily skin having astringent (sp?) is a MUST!! i have very oily skin %26amp; using scrubs, peels, creams didnt work. I started just using astringent through out the day. I have oily dry acne prone skin. what should i use to wash my face and 4 foundation?

The new mineral makeups are powder - which will help absorb the oil, and mineral - which won't clog your pores.

Proactive is a popular face wash, my sisters both use it with great results. This combined with the mineral makeup should give you the healthiest combination for your skin.I have oily dry acne prone skin. what should i use to wash my face and 4 foundation?
Do you mean you have oily AND dry skin? Well, if its more oily than dry, which I'm assuming it is because you're acne prone, then I suggest using a cleanser with salicylic acid or benzoil peroxide. Neutrogena's old fashioned Acne wash, the orange gel looking one, is great. If you have oily skin, this will dry it right up. If you have regular skin,or dry skin, it will burn your face off. But yeah, if its oily, its Perfect. Then, if you plan on not wearing makeup, then i suggest a very light moisturizer such as oil of olay with SPF. If you plan on wearing makeup, try a mattifying primer with SPF such as one by Smashbox. Then skip the foundation and compact pressed powder, and opt for a couple of buffs with a loose powder such as Bare Minerals. Don't want to shell out bucks for a Bare Minerals kit? They sell just the loose powder foundation alone for 20 bucks which is about what a good powder would cost anyways.I have oily dry acne prone skin. what should i use to wash my face and 4 foundation?
I use the Body Shop's seaweed cleanser and moisturizer, and they've really helped my skin; it started clearing up in a about a week, and I haven't had more than the occasional zit since I've started using it. And I recently added the Tea Tree Oil facial mask - smells a bit funny, but my skin's looking even better now.

As for foundation... I would recommend that you don't use it, period. Maybe concealer on bad zits, but my experience with foundation is that it clogs my pores up and makes it even worse.
I'm totally the same way!!! I suggest to use a cleanser that is meant for blackheads even if u don't have. Blackheads,it removes Oil from you face with its tough texture. Neutrogsna is the best it has pads and wash for it, also use markymay foundation because it is really good to make the face less oily
Cleansing: ProActive - only 2.5% Benzoil Peroxide, %26amp; a little glycolic too. The kit includes a lightweight moisturizer with sunscreen.

Makeup: Bare Minerals is the BOMB! Try to get to a store like Ulta where you can try it on first!
dont use inexpensive makeup spend atleast $10-$20 on a foundation for good one. physicains formula is great make up and hte new oragnics line is great for your skin. wash your face each morning to remove dead skin cells and refresh your skin. good luck :]
clinique three step face wash, it is amazing! its for people with young skin though, so its wayy more effective if you are a teen/20's
get some clean and clear oil free acne wash and use an oil free moisturizer before applying the foundation of your choice!

I have acne prone skin and sensitive skin. What products would help me clear up my acne w/o irritating it?

go to an acne skincare and not a dermatologist. at an acne skincare, they help rejuvenate and even out your skin tones, get rid of acne permanently, and doesn't leave any scars on your face or use alcohol. dermatologist just makes your face look worse by leaving scars behind and using alcohol.I have acne prone skin and sensitive skin. There are many cheap and effective home remedies for acne. Tomato slices, turmeric, papaya juices and home made packs will treat existing pimples and prevent further problems. More remedies at http://tinyurl.com/ypzvgd

YES YES YES YES! I use both of those products and they have helped my skin tremendously! Are these good products for Acne prone skin?
    yes they are!
As with most Acne medicines it will work for a short period of time. I think that after a month or so it won't work no more.
Yes they are the best but make sure you don't get the fake out version. go to the actual store, don't order it!
+ wash with soap and water often. Keep dry. No makeup. Watch diet. Good luck
i don't have pimples, i just have like little bumps in my cheeks and very dry cheeks and eyes, and i am going to start using Clinique. my aunt uses Bare essentials, and i think it's really good.
I use Bare Minerals and I like it...it gives a good coverage and makes my skin tone even. I've never tried Murad.. so can't say anything about that. I hope it works for you! Good luck and best wishes......
Dear, I would recommend you to find Manhattan Cosmetics brand, there are special really well-working anti-bacterial and adapt for acne-prone skin both powders and foundations. They are proven and is one of the top German brand selling in Europe. Personally, I am more than satisfied from those products. As to Bare Escentuals, yes, they are good, but I am not convinced that are the best. Murad products are too advertised, but unfortunately do not make ';mirracles';.

Wish you luck and many smiles.

    Have a great day!
yeah...I use a prescriptives cleanser and then proactive repairing lotion followed by prescriptives moisturizer...but it's what works for me. all skin is different. Just use whatever your skin responds to best.

Has anyone used any neutrogena products for oily or acne prone skin?

does this work well? i'm debating between this and clean and clear.Has anyone used any neutrogena products for oily or acne prone skin?
I have they always work!Has anyone used any neutrogena products for oily or acne prone skin?
Yes! Their face soap is really nice and works for me.
yea it work,my friend went to demetolidst and they recemendeed it (srri for spelling)
I HAVNT BUT ACNE FREE WORKES REALLY REALLY WELL!!!!
I've used both. I like Neutrogena very much. Clean %26amp; clear is a bit stronger, and a bit rough on my skin, makes it burn. There is at some malls, an actual neutrogena booth and they tell you exactly what products to use for your skin type.

I used to use Lancome, and I switched, cause I liked how easy it was to use, for a lesser price. Definately buy the moisturizing sunblock, very helpful!
My sister and I both have used the oil-free moisturizer for a year and it is very good and doesn't break out your skin. Sorry have'nt used any of the other products.

What can i do for oily/acne prone skin?how can i get my face clear without getting expensive?

The best bet is not just try a bunch of random stuff over the counter that isn't guarenteed to work. If I were you, I would cut to the chase and see a Dermatologist about getting a prescription acne med. to use for a year.

I got antibiotic pills, facewash, and cream to use and within a month my acne was gone! I've tried weekly facials, Pro-Activ, tons of other over the counter stuff and none of it worked. But the stuff I got from the Derm. was totally worth the price and it pretty much is guarenteed to work...saves a lot of money that would be spent on stuff that doesnt work! (Plus trying stuff that doesn't work and letting acne continue on only leaves more opportunity for scarring.)

It worked really well for me.
homemade remedy to clear acne for a lifetime:

    Things You鈥檒l Need:

All natural facial soap, as pure as you can get it.

    Baking Soda

    Water

    Benzoyl Peroxide, any strenth

    Facial Mask, green clay type

    Clean dry towel

Wash your skin lightly with an all-natural bar soap. I use Dr. Bronners Lavender bar soap. Be careful not to scrub your skin. All you need to do is to create a nice lather all over and rinse well with clean water.

While your skin is still wet, pour about 2 Tbsp. of Baking Soda (Sodium Bicarbonate) into your hand. Add to it just enough water to make a paste. Apply the paste all over your face and light work it around your face in circular motions for about 1 minute. Be careful not to press to hard, just use light circular motions. Rinse well with clean water.

Dry your skin by patting it lightly with a towel. Apply the Benzoyl Peroxide ONLY to the active acne spots. Allow to dry and then dab a little mud mask only on the spots. Leave on overnight.

You will gradually reduce the use of Benzoyl Peroxide as your skin clears until you do not use it at all. The Baking Soda works very quickly.
Ther is this this thing that I use called Clearasil Ultra Acne Soulution system. It works great because it is for oily acne prone breakouts.go to clearasilsystem.com ,and read all of the steps. They sell it at any drug store.. I got mine at wal mart
Considering how important it is to a person's self concept and self confidence [and no... I'm not a doctor's financial consultant] I'd say going to the dermatologist is cheap at whatever price.

I haven't had any problem with either of them. I have acne-prone, super oily skin. What I usually do is dip my brush in a bit of sunscreen, then the foundation and lightly buff on. I get a natural-looking finish, and great coverage, even with my many acne scars. What is a good foundation to try for someone with acne prone/oily skin?
The truth is, if you have acne prone skin, you shouldn't be wearing foundation. You're just asking for it to clog your pores, and it's very tricky to cover up acne convincingly. Foundation on top of acne will only make it worse.

Second, if you're around the average age of people who get acne, as in, a teenager, you REALLY shouldn't be wearing foundation. There's no need for you to yet; it's just overdoing it. Trust me, I've only just gotten beyond that, and there was no reason for me to wear as much makeup as I did, and I just ended up looking overdone. Try a good, light concealer instead, and just use it to cover what you'd like to hid, such as red spots or under eye circles.

What is the best skin treatment system (proactiv, murad...etc.) for acne prone skin?

I have tried a lot of stuff... and I am sick of wasting money on products that don't work. From you personal experience.... what actually WORKS?What is the best skin treatment system (proactiv, murad...etc.) for acne prone skin?
Im 27 and have had acne since I was a teenager. I have tried everything from facials to microdermabrasian to Retin-A to Accutane to Benzoclin to ProActiv. The simplest thing Ive found is a 'folk cure' that my great grandmother told me to do and it's the only thing that has ever worked for me. I've been acne free for the 3 months I've been doing it. I dont even wear make-up out all the time which I havent done since I was little! I wash my face, morning and night, with tea tree oil facial soap and follow up with Bragg's Organic Apple Cider Vinegar as a toner. (you can get both in any health food store) It's best to use the toner only at night for the first few times to see how your skin will react. It will sting a bit (but not uncomfortable) and your face will be a bit red but it normally subsides in a bit. If your skin adapts pretty quickly and the redness goes away quickly, use it in the morning after washing, as well. I have gotten so many compliments on my skin, it's ridiculous. The overall texture improved, pores arent so visible, not so oily....just amazing. And I never had 'good skin.' I wish I had tried this years ago because it would have saved me thousands of dollars. Sometimes the doctors and prescriptions arent always the best cure. Hope you try it and it works for you! What is the best skin treatment system (proactiv, murad...etc.) for acne prone skin?
It depends a lot on the type of acne you have. If it's mainly white and blackheads then u need something with a retinoid in it(such as retin-a, deifferin, targretin etc...). On the other hand if it's more inflammatory with red and white bumps, you will need to add something for the inflammation and bacteria (such as benzoyl peroxide, erythromycin, clindamycine etc..), if it's quite bad consider taking an antibiotic pill. The products come in several formats, gels are better for oily skin and creams for dry skin. The washes are useful and easy to appy also.

Women who get flares with their periods can get relief by using an oral contraceptive, or taking a short course of antibiotics before their period starts.
    Murad's Acne Complex

AcneFree...it really works if u use it as directed. It is half the price of Proactive...only $20. I started seeing results in 3 days. I've used it for about 2 weeks now and my face is cleared. I didn't believe it would work at first cuz I never heard of it before...but it does. Try it.
o.k.... the best stuff out there is perscription CLIDEGEL and DIFFEREN. this stuff works! The cost is pretty step, but I hardly EVER break out so it is worth it to me.
the clinique skin care for acne works, but if u go to a dermatoligist ask for difrein gel its really good.GOOD LUCK.and stop stressing about it strees hormones casue even more acne
For several years we got Proactiv for my my daughters ... they seemed to be happy with it!
i have been usin acnefree.... AND go to the dermatologist!
If you can see a dermatologist, it's best because you'll get professional advice on your specific acne condition.

If you want to try non-prescription ';systems'; first, I would recommend ProActiv ONLY. (Murad did NOT work for me.) I have also looked carefully at many other ';systems'; on the market. Based on their ingredient lists, they're not even remotely as good as Proactiv.

    Proactiv works well because:

    1. The cleanser manually exfoliates the skin with its gentle beads without irritating ingredients.

    2. The toner is an AHA (glycolic acid in this case) solution that has the right PH range and doesn't contain other irritating ingredients. It further exfoliates the skin. The texture of this solution feels clean and refreshing.

    3. The ';repairing lotion'; is a 2.5% benzoyl peroxide solution that is in the right PH range and doesn't contain other irritating ingredients. This ingredient kills the bacteria that causes acne. The texture of Proactiv's lotion is one of the best. It blends easily, stays on well, and is not too think. It seems to work pretty well under makeup, too,

Tip: There are two different strength systems available from Proactiv. It's not common knowledge because they don't advertise it. If the standard Proactiv products don't work very well for you, you can call or email them for the ';Extra Strength Kit';!

    Good luck! :)

..I have oily/acne prone skin. Should I mix baby oil with my moisturizer to look paler?
If you have oily skin and you put oil on it -- any type of oil at all -- you will break out even more than you already you. If you want to have less oily skin, I recommend you put something else on your skin. You should look for something that's the opposite of oil, such as: clay-based make-up, or lemon juice, and just wash with Ivory soap or a good homemade soap without lanolin in it.

I don't have much empathy for someone who wants to be pale, though, since my great ambition in life has always been to look darker. My mother always could tan beautifully by just walking from the house to the car. ZING! And she was a gorgeous bronze. I could lie out in the sun all day for a week and change from pale as vanilla ice cream to lobster red, then it would all peel off, and I'd be back to vanilla ice cream. SO disappointing! People were always asking me back in school, ';WHY are you so pale?'; IT's not my fault!! I always planned to look better than this. Blame it on my Dad, I guess.I have oily/acne prone skin. Should I mix baby oil with my moisturizer to look paler?
If you have oily skin you dont want to be adding products with oil in them or any harsh creams, you need a soft face wash specific for your skin.

Acne prone means you get acne easily if you dont take really good care of your skin. Sometimes even if you try really hard you still get acne. What is acne prone skin? Full details please.?
Acne prone skin is when you have acne on your face and you're prone to it(ie you get it a lot).

Usually you can just cure it with acne treatments(like cleansers, anti pimple cream, etc) although sometimes you need to take pills to make it get better
    Its a condition you couldsay.

Acne prone skin means those whohave skin very prone to getting acne and they must watch how to take care of it, or for some it means they must seek a dermotologist becuase most everything doesnt work.

Is glycerin soap better for acne prone skin?

Depends on your skin. Any handmade soap (which contains natural gylcerine) would be more beneficial than the store brand detergents out there--most are less drying and will cause less peeling. I would look for one specifically made for your type of skin --if you're oily look for a soap with clay--preferrably french green or rhassoul. Avoid clay soaps if you're prone to dry patches. Is glycerin soap better for acne prone skin?
What works for one, may not work for another. Glycerin soap is good for keeping skin moisturized. Glycerin attracts moisture from the air and you will find that using it will not dry out your skin too much like some of the acne products out there. Is glycerin soap better for acne prone skin?

Once a week for at least 2 weeks, and depending on the results go from there.

I am currently using Clinique, what I have used since age of 14. I am getting a little bored with it. I heard physician's formula is a nice makeup. I used the powder many years ago. I have dark scars and continuous acne popping up. Please help !?~~~Has anyone used Physician's Formula for acne-prone skin?
For scars, you may try Rose Hip oil (or Rose Hip Seed Oil), it effectively reduces scars caused by acne, surgery, burns, chicken pox, injuries and cuts.

Rose Hip Oil's potent cell regenerating and wound-healing properties help to replace ugly scar tissue with healthy, normal skin. It not only remodels damaged skin structure, it also improves skin color and elasticity.

Rose Hip seed oil is a pressed seed oil, extracted from the seeds of a rose bush (Rosa rubiginosa) which grows wild in the southern Andes.

It is unique among vegetable oils in containing retinol (Vitamin A). Rose hip seed oil is high in the essential fatty acids - linoleic acid or omega-3, and linolenic acid or omega-6. It is commonly used in skin care products. It is used for a variety of skin conditions, including dermatitis, acne and eczema, for mature and sun burnt skin as well as brittle nails.

Rose Hip Oil can help you look better than ever before. It has been used for centuries by the people of Chile. Scientific investigation into its properties began in the 1970s. Today its remarkable effects are recognized globally and it is recommended by dermatologists, skin specialists and cosmetic surgeons.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Controls-Oiliness-Re鈥?/a>~~~Has anyone used Physician's Formula for acne-prone skin?
I use the foundation. I love it. My skin isn't terrible, but I started having more breakouts after I gave birth to my daughter. These improved greatly after using it. It's rare now that I even have one pimple. And the coverage is wonderful. I've always had trouble finding a foundation that looks natural. I had a hard time finding something that matched my skin tone and lasted more than a few hours. I have kind of oily skin and no matter what I used, I looked shiny in a couple of hours. This is also a lot better with PF. It's also no more expensive, even cheaper sometimes, than other foundations. It's about 10 bucks a pop, and soooo worth it. I also use the blush and eyeshadow and pressed powder. They don't seem much different than other stuff, but the foundation is great.

Also, try www.physiciansformula.com. They sometimes have printable coupons for mail-in rebates. Sometimes for a full reimbursement.
Try the Arbonne Clear Advantage system. It will heal your skin from the inside out, rather than just on the surface leaving you acne free. You can view the product at mishelmaree.myarbonne.com.
When it comes to any line of cleansers, toners etc.. It's always a good idea to use the WHOLE line of THAT makers products. They are made to ';interact'; with eachother and therefore..work. I used to think using expensive products would work better than cheaper ones. But using St.Ives aprocot cleanser, their toner, masks, and moisturizers it has cleared my skin and made it glow. But this rutual must be done morning and night. But nightcream for night and moisturizer for day. Then ANY make-up will be fine. Physicians Formula is a good make-up. I enjoy using their bronzers and eye shadows. Enjoy!

I strongly recommend you start using mineral makeup. I have the same issue as you do-I have terrible acne prone skin and I found that mineral makeup has helped me out a lot. I suggest you use Bare Minerals. It is the best mineral makeup out there in the market today and it's really good stuff for people with acne-prone sensitive skin. Bare Minerals doesnt have all those harsh ingredients in it like liquid and other foundations do. Bare Minerals foundations come in a great range of colors, so it will be easy for you to find your shade. If you go to a Sephora store, they can help you find your exact shade.

You can find Bare Minerals in any Sephora store or the Sephora website (www.sephora.com) for $25.00. It may seem like a lot of money, but believe me, the foundatin will last you ages because you get a lot of product for the price.

Here is the link from the Sephora website so you can check it out for yourself:

I would check out the Clinique counter at your local department store. It's only about 2x the cost of drugstore foundation, but it's allergy tested, fragrance free, and non-comedogenic so it won't clog pores. Ask the makeup artist for Clinique to recommend one for acne prone skin, and they should find your color, and it will look much better than a drugstore foundation, and you don't have to guess at your shade.
I have been using avon make up recently. I like it better than some more expensive kind.Seems like it makes my complexion smoother. I had a bad complexion due to acne when I was younger too.

probably not. May be to much if your skin is naturally oily anyway. You want to moisturize. But use something that is less intense. Like clinique lotion.

What is the best foundation for acne prone, and oily skin?

I need a foundation that won't break me out and looks natural, also something that would give great coverage!

Thanks! (:What is the best foundation for acne prone, and oily skin?
I totally disagree with the Bare Minerals suggestion. Bare Minerals is not the best for oily skin, especially in the summer.

What I would suggest is Make Up For Ever Mat Velvet. Yes, it is a little more expensive but it is so worth it. It is water resistant, has great coverage, mattifying, looks natural, and does not clog pores. I just wore it yesterday night and fell in love with it. I usually use Bare Minerals but decided to try a different foundation at Sephora since I was going partying that nice. I danced in the hot club for 4 hours and I did not look like an oil slick as I usually would have.

With my Bare Minerals, when I am outside, if I am out too long in the sun, I look very oily within 1 hour. And what's worse is that it tends to change color because of the oil and I not only looking oily, but I look orange and very dark.

Now, don't get me wrong. Bare Minerals works great for me in the winter time and lasts a long time. I am on month 6 and am still not finished with the bottle (though I won't use it again until fall or winter).

However, for oily, acne-prone skin in the summer, I would not recommend Bare Minerals.

Also, another suggestion, use an oil mattifier. I use an oil mattifier under my makeup and it does a great job of making my face less oily so I do not have to touch up and blot as much. What is the best foundation for acne prone, and oily skin?

  • With oily acne prone skin that gets dry easily and is sensitive...?

Is it safe to use a cleanser that has some oils in it? (I'm trying to go more natural and most of the natural cleansers contain oils)With oily acne prone skin that gets dry easily and is sensitive...?
It depends on the oil/s in the product. Some are very comedogenic or irritating. Check the list against the ingredients and see how the oils rank for pore clogging tendencies.

    http://www.zerozits.com/Articles/acne_de鈥?/a>

On this list mineral oil is ranked as a 0. It will not clog pores as on a molecular level it cannot get into your pores, but it will create a barrier and block them or trap other ingredients in the product which may be comedogenic in your pores.

This list below has just oils grouped in low, moderate, and high clogging potential....

    nurtagina and put lotion after!
If you've got super sensitive skin then definatly go with the clinique 3 step system. I was using it for a while and it was super gentle on my skin, and cleared up some of my acne (but not all of it). The combination of products for combination skin (like mine and yours) is this: The liquid cleanser in mild, the toner in #2, and the dramatically different moisturizer (only on the parts of your face that need to be moisturized, or a super thin layer of it all over your skin). This won't clog your pores, it doesn't have perfumes and / or oils in it, and is a pretty good skin care system.. plus.. the bottles are so huge they last for a really long time. If you can't afford the clinique system, then definatly go with either Cetaphil (the one in the GREEN bottle) or with Purpose (which is also VERY gentle). Dove is also pretty good, but it dried out my skin a little after a while.
You can try Cetaphil. I have rosacea and my skin seems to do okay. It was recommended by my dermatologist.
    Try this:

Mix baking soda and witch hazel/or water together until it comes to a good constancy, and then spread on your face and leave it on for 10-15 minutes. these two things are very inexpensive and it's very easy to do since there is only two ingredients.

Toothpaste is good for drying out your pimple (for some people). Put only a little bit before you go to sleep. Some people use this as a mask but DON鈥楾 EVER DO THIS! It can change your skin tone and make your face discolored.

Aloe vera helps scars lighten and less noticeable (lemon, cocoa butter, witch hazel, and tea tree oil do the same thing). Use the gel (of the aloe plant) or the real thing.

Try to buy a cleanser that works for you, and when you wash your face, open your pores with hot water (not too hot, or it will dry out your skin) and massage it gently into your skin. Then, use cold water at the end to close you pores. The smaller your pores are, the less likely you're prone to pimples. Clearasil, Neutrogena, and proactive are good choices to start if you want a cleanser. Don't use body soaps because they dry out your skin. Don't scrub too hard either, because it can irritate your skin.

An egg yoke can be used to make you pores smaller. I used this when I had pimples. Just take the egg yolk (the yellow part) and leave it on your face for 10-15 minutes and rinse off with warm water and then splash your face with cold water.

Keep your hair out of your face because the oils in your hair could go into your pores. Change you sheets because they're are trapped with dirt, oils, etc.

Zinc (type of vitamin) is the one of the best things you can use to get rid of pimples. You can buy these almost about any large store (such as Wal-Mart or Shaws.) Have one tablet per day and try to cut down the junk food and replace it with vegetables and fruits. Drink lots of water and don't pop you acne. Popping acne can lead to acne scars.

If you have sensitive skin, don't use make up. Some of the things in make up can clog your pores and cause pimples. Keep your hands out of your face as much as you can because you hands a full of bacteria and oils.
    ummm sure
