I have acne scars on my face. They are not in worse possible condition but still since I am fair they are very prominent. Also, my face goes red in sunlight. I am thinking to get microderma abrasion done. Please suggest?Shud I get Microdermabrasion for my acne prone skin.?
I would recommend microdermabrasion. I've had 3 treatments so far myself, and while expensive, you do get a very noticeable result. The number of treatments you get will depend on how damaged your skin is. My acne scars were pretty mild, so I've only got 1 or 2 more to go. But if they're prominent like you say, they'll probably suggest that you get anywhere from 5 to 10 treatments.
Also if the place that you get yours done has doctors on staff, they'll probably prescribe you an acne medication before you start the treatments (unless ofcourse you already use acne medication).
IMO the microdermabrasion itself didn't even hurt. The part that was most uncomfortable for me was the blackhead extractions. So be ware of that :p
Anyway micro is the BEST thing I've ever done for my skin. It's so soft and clear now. My husband says my face is as smooth as a baby's bottom.
So yeah, I totally recommend it. Good luck!Shud I get Microdermabrasion for my acne prone skin.?
Microdermabrasion is expensive, and you generally need around 6 - 10 treatments. At first your skin will be VERY red for a day or two after (PS: accept the foundation they offer afterwards on at least the first treatment.)
But the preceding treatments, your skin will recover much quicker.
I don't believe it will fix acne scarring as the way the skin grows it damaged and this is just how it grows.
Having said that Microdermabrasion is quite agressive, so it may improve them slightly.
I have also heard Bio Oil is good for scars.
You should get it, but you don't have to get it done at a salon. A cheaper way to go would order thru Mary Kay or Beauti Control. Its easy to do yourself. Just put a light layer of the beads and scrub your face with the brush. Do upward strokes so you won't get any wrinkles. Then afterwards put on Vitamin C lotion to help make your skin glow. Just a small tip, do your microderm when you don't have to go anywhere for at least 24 hours, it can cause redness. Also don't press to hard, its the beads that make your skin better, not the brush. Hope this helps.
Buy 'Modern Friction' by Origins. Its a microdermobrasion in a tub, its quite pricey i think about 拢30 but it works. You should read some reviews on it, alot of people say they prefer it to the real thing. It makes your skin so smooth.
If you use it, finish off by rubbing in rosehip oil to your face. Its used for healing scars and softening skin.
